About the adventure

In the mystical world of Eberron, ancient prophecies weave through the fabric of reality, and the echoes of a cataclysmic event known as the Day of Mourning linger like a haunting melody. This shattered continent, marked by warforged wonders and dragonmarked houses, pulses with an unparalleled blend of magic, intrigue, and innovation. Cities rise like spires of progress, from the soaring towers of Sharn, the City of Towers, to the industrial marvels of Korth, the Crown City. The lightning rail connects disparate lands, hurtling through manifest zones where the barriers between planes thin, and ancient secrets stir. In the shadowy corners of city streets and the untamed wilderness beyond, adventurers unravel mysteries that span the vast reaches of Eberron. Dragonshards, the crystallized essence of the world's magic, hold the promise of power and untold potential. Beneath the surface, the enigmatic Lords of Dust plot their return, and the Draconic Prophecy weaves its enigmatic threads through the destinies of mortals. In the untamed jungles of Q’Barra, whispers pass between prospectors, dragonshard miners, and Cold Sun tribes alike: a relic of impossible design has been uncovered deep within the Endless Jungle—a device said to hum with the same haunting resonance that once consumed Cyre. House Tharashk surveyors who found it vanished without a trace. Only one survivor staggered back to Newthrone, raving about a “crystal heart that beats with thunder” and a chorus of voices calling it “the Mourning Engine.” Scholars across Khorvaire are desperate for answers. Some believe the artifact could explain the tragedy that ended the Last War. Others fear it could repeat it. When the adventurers are approached by a coalition of patrons—representatives from House Cannith, the Arcane Congress, and the Church of the Silver Flame—they are given a mission both noble and perilous: venture into the jungles of Q’Barra, recover the artifact, and ensure it never again threatens the world.

About me

Come one, come all! See the fantastic worlds inside, outside, and in between all other worlds! With three years as an in-person Game Master and three years as a player, online games is the next step in gaining more experience as a Game Master. Most experience is with D&D 5e and home brew rules. We now have two years of online experience as a game master! These games are the conglomerations from multiple map building systems, combined for a 4D gaming experience. Yet the maps are only a small portion of the more expansive story telling experience that comes from the players. Each game will be held via a Zoom meeting and each player will receive access to a google drive folder, where their character sheet, campaign notes, and artwork can be stored. Upon the start of the game we will determine avatars to represent each game character. Our lead DM, Tylor has a Bachelor's of Science with a Minor in Communication. He is hard working and dedicated to providing a top notch experience for all who partake in the games. So don't be shy, if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask! Come and meet the fun & wacky or serious & logical NPC's by signing-up for our next scheduled game, or request a private session, either way, good times will be had!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen prior to session 0. Characters should be created within D&D beyond for quick and simple import, however this is not a requirement. If this is not where character sheets are created, then I will need a copy of your character sheet submitted into a shared Google Drive Folder. Players are encouraged to create whatever character they desire; if the party is unbalanced, an NPC will be added to the group to fill any needed gaps.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a computer with a minimum of 8gb of RAM. Additionally, you will need a microphone and camera to communicate with the team. You have the option of rolling through the VTT or with physical dice. You will additionally need Zoom on your computer and an account created.

What The Vagabond Tavern brings to the table

These sessions will be conducted through the use of both Foundry (for game play where there are virtual maps created; and characters can play with visual effects for spells) and Zoom (for communication). As a Game Master, I will provide ambiance music/sound effects. Majority of experiences will be rules as written, however there are a handful of home brew rules that are applied. Players will be trusted with being able to roll their own dice, create their characters, until that trust is broken, at which point I will take over rolls and character advancement.
