About the adventure

This game is great for retired players are those located Across the Pond! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- It is the year 2029, and in the state of Tennessee there is a three front war between the Vampires, the Werewolves, and the Hunters. The fighting has been non-stop, and many have died on every front, but the violence shows no signs of abating. Eight months of war, and you have grown weary. You go to your bed at the face of another morning, but when you awaken you find yourself in an elaborate and exquisite hotel room, and everything in is black marble, gilded in gold, and the pictures detail your actions within the war. You have no memory of this place, but there is something familiar nonetheless. You play a war-weary Vampire, and you are either an Anarch or a trusted member of the Camarilla. Discover the secrets of this hotel, the other guests, and figure out what brought you here, why, and a way to return home. This is a moderately difficult story; some familiarity with Vampire 5e would be helpful, but it is by no means a requirement. Please note: Though the game listing says 18+, we require all players be at least 21 years of age. Thank you.

About me

Greetings and Salutations! I run a lot more games than are listed on my profile here, so if you don't see something, no worries: here is what I am currently running so you can look it up and join us! I am a professional game designer with nearly 40 years experience with myriad RPG systems. Warhammer was my first game, and it has been a passion of mine ever since. After that, I discovered TMNT & Other Strangeness, as well as the other Palladium Books RPGs they had out at the time (Ninjas & Superspies, Heroes Unlimited, Palladium Fantasy, et al). I also experimented with GURPS, Paranoia, various comic book RPGs including Marvel FASERIP, Shadowrun and quite a few others. All told, I have run at least 200 different RPGs between then and the intervening years up to these modern nights. For those in the know, I was heavily involved with the Camarilla, and when I lost interest playing with them, I wrote my own rules based off of Laws of the Wyld, and ran a Werewolf: the Apocalypse LARP for a goodly number of years. I miss my LARPing years with the vigour of an Adren Fianna or a Silver Fang Galliard. My last RPG design effort was The Aethyrblood Chronicles (TABC), a cosmic horror/supers game. I am now designing a system agnostic rules set using revised mechanics that I developed for TABC, I will be looking for official playtesters soon. Message me if you are interested. I look forward to hearing from you, and together we will rule the universe with the power of the Dark Si.... well, together we can craft some most excellent stories. Let's wonder for a spell!

Character creation

Creating your character

You will create Ancilla Vampires, by the book, in Roll20 (link provided below). You cannot be more than 140 years old. You are encouraged to buy into a Loresheet, but it is not required. Thinblooded are allowed. You may spend an additional 15 Experience to round out your character, above what is provided for you in the book. If you need any assistance in the character creation process, message me on Discord please. When you make your character, be thinking about the following questions. When you complete the character creation process, answer these questions in the "Notes" section on the "Details" Tab: 1) Where in Tennessee do you reside? 2) Think of one NPC you would declare absolute loyalty. Who are they? What faction within the war are they a member: vampire (Cam, Anarch, or Sabbat), Werewolf, or Hunter; and why are you so loyal to them? 3) Where is your Haven? Do you share it with anyone? Who are they? 4) How long have you fought in the war? What pulled you into the conflict? 5) What is the one reason you might commit treason against your faction? What would it take to push you to such an extreme? 6) What would you do for the power/influence/resources to end the war today? 7) When you awaken in your hotel room, what three images are shown in the pictures hanging on the wall; remembering that these are to be images of your actions during the war. When in the war did these depictions occur? 8) What is one personal secret is present in the room that related directly to your character's life from at least 80 years ago? What form does this secret take? Where in the room is it? 9) There is a personal invitation to a gala in the hotel's Elysium Ballroom in three hours time. Who signed it, and where do you recognise the name from? Who are they to you? Are the supernatural in nature or are they mortal? 10) What is the first thing you notice in the armoire in your hotel room? What is the significance to you? 11) There is a pleasant smell drifting through the air conditioning vent: what is it? What is it's significance? 12) Outside the window, you see something tied to your character's history, from at least 50 years ago. What is it? What is its significance? 13) There is a suit/dress placed strategically somewhere in the hotel room. Why do you immediately recognise it? What is it's significance? How expensive was it? 14) When the door leading out into the hallway is locked, what is the first thing your character thinks to themself?

What to expect

Preparing for the session

First, you should immediately join the Start Playing Now! (SPN!) Discord server, and here is the link: https://discord.gg/pSFK3F3ZjU Next, join the game proper on Roll20, and here is that link: https://app.roll20.net/join/20106651/4QnAhQ Follow the character creation guidelines, including the 14 Questions. If you require any assistance, or need to ask any questions, please contact me via Discord: eiric.e.padraig

What Eiric E. Padráig brings to the table

I have been experimenting with various systems to provide ambient music and sound f/x, but I have yet to find anything I like. I am forever on the search. But in the meantime, I have nearly 40 years of game experience, and I have been playing Vampire: the Masquerade since 2nd Edition. While I like tactical combat, it rarely has a place in my Vampire games. I prefer deep role-play in these games. While we will generally stick with RAW, I have nothing against players attempting something cool. So do not be afraid to give it a try!

Homebrew rules

I will not be using any Homebrew or House Rules, but we might adapt to something if the entire group agrees to it.

Safety

How Eiric E. Padráig creates a safe table

Unlike most games that I run, we will not be doing a Session Zero because I want the characters to be a surprise to each other. We will take breaks around the half-way point of each session. Additionally, we have an Open Door policy worked into the plotline, so if the game is not to your liking, simply drop out at any time. If you need to miss due to a RLS (Real Life Situation), please let me know with at least 4 hours notice if possible so I an ensure you are not charged for the session you need to miss. I do not use "Stars and Wishes" as they suggest. I use a system called "Rose, Bud, Thorn": with a Rose being something you enjoyed, a Bud being something you are looking forward to, and a Thorn being something you did not enjoy. If you wish, you can abstain from the whole section of the Afterparty.
