About the adventure
You’ve built the worlds. Now come ruin someone else’s. Tired of balancing CRs, improvising NPCs, and pretending your players didn’t just derail your entire arc with a single pun? This game is for you – the Forever GM. Step out from behind the screen and into the radioactive fog of Dungeons of Drakkenheim, where the only thing you need to manage is your own glorious descent into chaos. This isn’t your average dungeon crawl. It’s a grimy, eldritch sandbox packed with crumbling ruins, mutated horrors, and political factions that make your last player group look cooperative. You’ll explore a cursed city teeming with arcane fallout, eldritch secrets, and the kind of moral quandaries you usually inflict on other people. No prep. No pressure. Just a table full of worldbuilders, plot architects, and chaos goblins finally getting to play on the other side. Whether you're looting delirium, arguing with talking rats, or accidentally becoming the villain, this is your chance to revel in the beautiful mess of collaborative storytelling. Come for the catharsis. Stay for the war stories. Let’s see what happens when the GMs go off-script. Every tangent has a tale. Let’s see where yours leads.

About me
My first character died stupidly at a Catholic school camp, courtesy of the Red Box and a poor decision around a rope bridge. That was the start. I’ve lived through the Satanic Panic, the collapse of TSR, the rise of Magic: The Gathering, and the edition wars that left scars on many a character sheet. I’ve played FATE, SWADE, Vampire: The Masquerade, and more… but D&D keeps calling me back. 5e isn't flawless, but it’s flexible, familiar, and fun to build with especially when you know how to bend it. For decades, I didn’t know I was neurodivergent. Turns out I’m AuDHD. Somehow, TTRPGs helped me navigate a world that didn’t make sense. They gave me structure, creativity, and connection when I didn’t know I needed it. Now, with a diagnosis and a lifetime of storytelling behind me, I’m leaning in. I’m a forever DM, and if that’s my fate, I may as well help other forever DMs get to play (as well as anyone else who’s curious). I run immersive, cinematic games with modular design and mythic flair. Plot twists powered by distraction are my specialty and every side-quest has a tale worth telling. I love making people laugh, cry, get angry, get sad… and most of all, enjoy the stories they help create. Let’s roll for tangents and see what chaos we uncover together.

Creating your character
You’ve spent ages building worlds, balancing encounters, and pretending not to be emotionally attached to your NPCs. Now it’s your turn to play. So... let’s make it easy. Create your character on D&D Beyond: • Use Point Buy for ability scores (we’re keeping things fair and spicy). • Start at Level 1, all fresh-faced and ready to cause problems. • You can use any content you personally have access to. Go wild. Setting up for multiclass? Sure. Third party content? If it’s in your collection, it’s fair game. • Build something you’d never let your players get away with. You’ve earned it. Once you’ve built your masterpiece: 1. Go to your character’s sheet on D&D Beyond. 2. Click “Share” in the top right. 3. Set the character to Public. 4. Copy the link and send it my way. I’ll import it directly into FoundryVTT using Mr Primate’s DDB Importer, so you can jump straight into the action without fiddling with stat blocks.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This game runs through FoundryVTT, so you’ll need a stable internet connection and a desktop or laptop browser (Chrome or Firefox preferred). No need to install anything, just click the link I’ll provide before the session and you’re in. If you’ve never used Foundry before, I’ve made a short video walkthrough of my setup so you know what to expect. It’s not required viewing, but it’ll help you hit the ground running. (Link will be shared closer to game time) We’ll use Discord for voice chat, with the occasional video moment if the mood strikes. No pressure to turn on your camera! This is a judgment-free zone for Forever GMs to kick back and play. Just make sure your mic works and you’re in a quiet enough space to cackle freely when your plan inevitably backfires. Session notes will be handled by Archivist AI, a tool that quietly tracks the game’s events so you don’t have to. It’s like a scribe who never interrupts. Just a heads-up: your in-game actions and dialogue may be summarized for posterity. If you’d prefer not to be included in the notes, let me know before we start. And don’t forget to follow the character creation instructions! You’ll be building your character in D&D Beyond using Point Buy, starting at Level 1, and sharing the public link so I can import it directly into FoundryVTT.
What Andrew brings to the table
This isn’t your usual game and I’m not your usual GM. I’m here to give you a break from the screen-side grind and remind you why you fell in love with D&D in the first place. Dungeons of Drakkenheim is a campaign that dances between drama and absurdity, mystery and mischief, with a cast of NPCs that feel like they escaped from a storybook written by a caffeinated goblin. I run games like a jester juggling flaming swords… part chaos, part choreography. One moment you’ll be unravelling arcane secrets in a plague-ridden ruin, the next you’ll be arguing with a talking door about the philosophical implications of cheese. I love tight narrative arcs, but I also love when players derail them with a well-timed pun or an ill-advised seduction attempt. Tone shifts are part of the fun. You’ll get: • A rich, story-driven mystery set in the haunted ruins of Drakkenheim. Even if you’ve read or run the module, don’t worry! I treat published content as a guide, not gospel. It might be what you expect… or it might not. Who knows? • Eccentric NPCs voiced with enthusiastic attempts, sometimes aided by a voice changer for extra flair. • Ambient music to help set the mood, whether it’s eerie silence or tavern chaos. • A safe, judgment-free space to play boldly, fail gloriously, and laugh loudly. This campaign is designed for Forever GMs to kick back, roll dice, and revel in the ridiculous. You bring the character; I’ll bring the chaos. And together, we’ll explore a city where the fog bites back.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew Rules for just a dash of chaos: • Death Saves are private (between you and me). When you're down, your fate is your own. No peeking, no metagaming, just quiet dread. • Maxwell’s Manual of Malicious Maladies is in play. Critical hits and dropping to 0 HP may come with delightfully horrible consequences. You’ve been warned. These tweaks keep the tension high and the drama… delicious.

Safety
How Andrew creates a safe table
This game is built on trust, creativity, and the freedom to play boldly. To support that, I use a few tools to help keep everyone safe and comfortable: - Safety Tools module in FoundryVTT will be active during the game. You’ll get a quick walkthrough in the orientation video so you know how to use it if needed. - A short Lines and Veils document will be shared before the session. It’s a simple way to set boundaries and make sure we’re all on the same page. - We’ll take a 10–15 minute break halfway through to stretch, hydrate, and reset. No one should have to choose between immersion and bladder integrity. This is a judgment-free zone for Forever GMs to relax and enjoy the ride. If something feels off, you’ll have tools and space to speak up. No questions asked, no explanations required.
