About the adventure
Death was supposed to be release. Instead, you woke up here, under the Crooked Moon, where hope is fragile, faith is twisted, and every choice leaves a scar. Beneath its light, nothing stays pure for long. Welcome to Wickermoor Hollow, a land of rot and ritual, of memory and monsters. In this Dungeons & Dragons 5e campaign, set in the Crooked Moon world by Legends of Avantris, you play as a soul who has slipped through death’s fingers and fallen into a purgatory that refuses to let you rest. You don’t belong here, but you’re not alone. Others wander the Hollow too: forgotten souls, broken heroes, and those whose stories ended wrong. Together, you’ll search for meaning, dig through ash and bone, and face the six Fallen, once-great champions now corrupted by their own sins. And beyond them waits their master: The Horned King, bound beneath the Hollow, a god of sorrow and fire whose freedom could doom those around you. To escape, you’ll have to break his chains. The price of freedom… is letting something far worse slip free. The Hollow itself is alive. The nobles of Druskenvald cling to decaying traditions and blood-soaked titles. Villagers whisper prayers to things in the dark. Hags trade secrets for pieces of your soul. Wicker giants wander the hills with bones in their baskets. Cults bloom like fungus beneath chapel floors. And in the fog beyond the veil, the Crooked Queen dreams, her chosen already walking among us. This is a campaign for those drawn to folk horror, gothic melancholy, and slow-burn storytelling. Expect rich character drama, unsettling mysteries, and choices that blur the line between salvation and damnation. The Hollow doesn’t care who you were in life, it only cares what you’ll become to survive. Death didn’t want you. But the Hollow does.

About me

Creating your character
We will be using 2024 rules and your characters will start at level 1, you can make a character before Session 0 if you like but character creation will be handled in session 0. that way I am there if you need help. I will also help tailor your character to the campaign and setting.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have the following: - access to a webcam/mic - a dndbyond account (for building characters and accessing the campaign and map/VTT) - a discord account (for playing the game)
What Joe (Phoenix) brings to the table
I will provide the dndbeyond campaign which has content sharing available so anything I own you can have access to as well, a discord server where we will play the game. I have a music bot in the server that will provide some nice background music and the occasional sound effect. I am a big believer and practitioner of the Rule of Cool and the "yes and" philosophy. Players can expect a rules light, roleplay heavy experience that focus on telling a good story.
Homebrew rules

Reroll 1's on the damage die - A Natural 20 on initiative gives you advantage on your first hit. A Natural 1 on initiative gives you disadvantage on your first hit. - When a dying character fails their third death saving throw, they can immediately take any single action Those are the Big Ones. A list of all these house rules and more that I use are listed in my discord server
