About the adventure
Have you ever wanted to enjoy a bit more Cozy when you play D&D? Or maybe you have a friend who loves their cozy games, and you need a good gateway to get them into D&D - Cozy Cove is for you! Located in the wild country that flows full of chaos magic, former high level adventurers Babs and Howard opted to start a little tourist town project for retirement - so adventurers could come and explore dungeons and chaotically magical area, but still have a cozy place to lay their heads, a nice town with festivals, food, and fun - everything you need for a good Cozy. This does not mean there is no violence - adventurers still go on quests, and face a myriad of enemies, sometimes using creativity to find a solution, or the good old classic rolling for initiative, to solve a problem. The campaign is roughly 13 quests, some will easily be done in one 2-3 hour session, others would take more than one, or a long session, so I am expecting this campaign to run 15-20 sessions at around 3 hours - sometimes more. I do three hours so we can still get a lot done, but if players wanna joke around for a bit in the chaotically cozy world, they can. This is a fun world to explore and discover, but is ultimately crafted around the characters themselves - so if you are interested in character and story driven, cozy D&D, this is the game for you! There will be a session zero, and my DMs are open if you have any questions. Campaign should start under level 3, but can be scaled very easily for higher levels, should all players agree - just shoot me a message - this is a collaborative game, let's collaborate and have fun playing it, shall we?

About me
Hello! I love D&D (and other assorted TTRPGs) enough to not mind being a forever GM. I believe in the simple fact that this is a game, and we are meant to have fun - my first goal is always ensuring we are all having fun. In the last couple of years I have realized TTRPGs are more fun when I run the games I enjoy, and now, I am glad to say I am open for GMing for strangers (who will soon become friends!) on the internet who enjoy similar game play style and games. For game play style - I believe in collaborative, enjoyable storytelling with compatible personalities. "Rule of Cool" with roleplay and whimsy is my style. I'm autistic, if I don't know a rule, I DO know how to look it up, or get clarification on it, but I also know how to have fun and wing it in a way that makes us all have fun. I am not a great DM for RAW lawyer Murder-Hobos, nor do I pretend to be - but if cozy, whimsical, fun and sometimes chaotic gameplay sounds fun? Then let's play some freaking TTRPGs! Games are played in Discord and Owlbear Rodeo with custom maps and tokens made from character art.

Creating your character
Character creation will be finalized during session zero, but if inspiration strikes you, feel free to work on some ideas for a character - we will use point buy system* for D&D 5E 2014. (27 points) - We will decide in session zero what level the group would like to be as Cozy Cove scales really easily - likely in the 1-4 range to start . * Points buy system: Everything starts at 8 points, and you get 27 points to then distribute and make your scores higher – the points scale with 1 point per level until 13. And then its 2 points per increase, max 15 before racial bonuses. Please see point conversion below for assistance. Score | Cost 8 | 0 9 | 1 10 | 2 11 | 3 12 | 4 13 | 5 14 | 7 15 | 9
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Webcams are optional but encouraged to help with communication and visuals. Mics are needed, so you can participate, haha. As for programs, you will need Discord, but I run everything in discord and Owlbear Rodeo (via a link you easily click) - giving us the feel of gathering around the same table, and saving people from having to learn even more before playing. I will cover a brief onboarding of Owlbear Rodeo during Session Zero. If you don't know the rules or are new to D&D, I have tons of help guides, so you can drop in easily without having to read a few books. Should any player need extra time to prepare or have questions, I am available often to answer questions. You are not expected to create a character before session 0, but it is advised to have some ideas of what kind of character you want to play. As mentioned, I am willing to work with players who want less common builds for characters - just shoot me a message!
What Abbi-Gm brings to the table
Cozy Cove is a custom world I have created, where one can adventure and have fun, but still have a cozy end of the day. With this world, I also bring fleshed out NPCs (with character sheets!) Optional playable characters that are pre-created to make dropping in and dropping out of sessions easier on the player. I also bring quality custom maps for our sessions which are ran in Discord. Additionally, I bring whimsy and cozy vibes with some chaotic settings and situations for cozy/chaos loving characters to have fun! As this is still unpublished, I also bring a willingness to work with players on unique and custom builds - send me your ideas, and we will make it work! As I grow as a DM, you will see additional artwork, voicework, and music features added - I try to improve every day! In addition, any table I run is a safe space for LGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent people - Cozy means everyone is welcome, and we don't tolerate jerks. Combat in Cozy Cove can often be avoided with roleplay, but still are featured in low to medium capacity. Player expectations can be set ahead of time - if you want to solve more with roleplay, many encounters work that way - but if you want to smash some stuff, we have some options there too. As a DM - I believe in the RoC - rule of cool, over RAW - rules as written - nothing is wrong with either method, but I find that "rule of cool" works better for the style of DMing I prefer to do, and makes Cozy stuff that much more fun! Please feel free to DM with any questions - I am still new to this world of professional online DMing, so there is every possibility that I haven't mentioned something. Murder Hobos will not enjoy, and frankly should not play, Cozy Cove - nothing wrong with murder hobos, but let's all be honest about our strengths, right? I am not the right DM for Murder-Hobo characters, and that's okay! Cozy lovers who want to play some D&D however, you should definitely come join me in Cozy Cove!
Homebrew rules
House Rules: Rule of Cool will prevail – but you need to roleplay it for me to believe it’s cool. When in doubt, we roll it out. Nat 20 on initiative chooses where they go in the order, after all rolls are revealed. Critical Hit (Nat 20) damage rule is decided as a group during session 0. Drinking a potion is a bonus action Add +1 to your HP after max hit die + con modifier

How Abbi-Gm creates a safe table
I am willing to use any and all safety tools - I have listed ones I have used in some capacity previously, but as a GM, my goal is to ensure we all have fun, which means I am okay with any safety tools to make the players feel comfortable - if you need something done, or some sort of discussion ahead of time, message me, we WILL figure out how to ensure you have a safe place to play D&D. With this said, I have listed the only triggers I see Cozy Cove having - it's by definition, cozy, nice, and good things happen. If something could be triggering, I have zero issue rewriting or omitting it - players having fun in a safe place comes first - that way we can all actually have fun. My messages are open, I am always open to discuss or change something to make someone more comfortable, and if you would like to see any specific safety tool from me or any session I run - you just shoot me a message - I will research and implement. I record all sessions for notes and recaps, and as long as players are not opposed I publish to my YouTube channel - this helps when players miss, or if you need to remember a specific thing that happened in a session. The recording has audio for everyone, as well as my camera and the virtual table top - no player has their face revealed in this game.
