About the adventure

In the north of Vaelora there is an active portal spewing demons. The continent of Nimaree is home to such powerful monsters that no country can get a foothold. The Theocracy of Light prepares its navy for an inevitable war with Gritain. The Kingdom of Kalamar has an undead problem that seems to have no source. The discovery of electricity and invention of guns has revolutionized both science and banditry. The nation of Gritain is a relatively new nation of only a little over a century, but in that time they've revolutionized the world. They've recently passed a law allowing merchants to buy noble titles, so long as they can prove that they will be a benefit to Gritainia. The usual way for a Baronet to prove such is to sponsor an adventuring team. The exploits of the team are streamed to the people of Gritain through viewing mirrors. The proprietor of Axe Rush Energy drinks is a newly paid for Baronet and is now looking to hire a team of adventurers to both show his values of helping Gritainia and advertise his energy drinks. Come play a game of Exploration, Political Intrigue, steampunk magitech, and of course saving the country.

About me

Hi! I've been Gming ttrpgs for 29 years, and I love it. I build sandbox worlds that shift and change around the players; where you can go anywhere and adventure is just around the corner. I excel at helping players build backstories and weaving them into the game. As a GM I truly believe that the table top is about bringing the player's story to life, and making that happen is my favorite part of ttrpg. It's important to me to run an inclusive, safe table. To that I end I employ session zero, a discord, open discussion policy, a zero tolerance of bigotry policy. Politics are inevitable in an rpg game, however hate has no place.

Character creation

Creating your character

Hi. This is a homebrew setting that has history for almost every race in D&D, as such character creation will be a collaboration. If you'd like to use a homebrew race or class please let me approve it. Ideally we'll create characters over session 0. Stats will be decided through rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest. We'll start at level 3. It's steampunk so the more you incorporate that into your ccharacter the more fun you're likely to have.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please join my discord. We'll play on Alchemy VTT. I'm working on some videos of the history of the world on youtube so check those out too once I get them out. Joining D&D Beyond is helpful.

What Alice brings to the table

I'm a very theatre of the mind with a battlemap DM. I don't police players actions or railroad the story aside from maintaining a safe space (no racism, homophobia, transphobia, don't use or base your character on usual triggers) I share my d&d beyond and I have access to all the basic rulebooks and a couple optional books.

Homebrew rules

The setting is homebrew and there will be many homebrewed monsters. Don't worry I've been playing for 3 decades I won't TPK the party unless there's a story reason or the dice have betrayed you. Drinking a potion is a bonus action to me. Flanking is based on 3.5 rules.

Safety

How Alice creates a safe table

This is a collaborative story telling game. As such almost any topic can filter into the game. Due to this use of the safety features is important to the game. Such safety features are x card, lines and veils, bathroom breaks, and in general avoiding usual trigger subjects.
