About the adventure

You have been invited by Ghraedyn vur-Graeden, a powerful Sage from the City of Doors, to be wined and dined by the entire city of Sigil during a tenday gala in honour of your adventuring group! You will be put up in the hotel of your desire and given a "per diem" of 500 platinum. During the tenday, you will meet some of the most important people of the multiverse, many of whom owe you their very lives! And all you have to do is show up, shake a few hands, kiss a few babies, and regale the audience with tales from your glory days between the many worlds that surround the Prime Material Plane. Most of the game will be played in a sort of Flashback Mode, where you will tell the stories to those attending the gala, and we will use a unique Auction Mechanic to ensure the Encounters during the Flashbacks go the way you want them to. But be warned - if you overindulge the egos of the characters and the Encounter does not match the story you told, there will be penalties. But we will discuss the specifics during Session Zero... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This game is great for retired players or those located Across the Pond! A Forewarning - if you are not familiar with "most" of the Dungeons & Dragons settings from the past eras, this might not be the game for you. However, if you have played "most" of the settings and editions, this this IS very much the game for you. Would you like to know more...?

About me

Greetings and Salutations! I run a lot more games than are listed on my profile here, so if you don't see something, no worries: here is what I am currently running so you can look it up and join us! I am a professional game designer with nearly 40 years experience with myriad RPG systems. Warhammer was my first game, and it has been a passion of mine ever since. After that, I discovered TMNT & Other Strangeness, as well as the other Palladium Books RPGs they had out at the time (Ninjas & Superspies, Heroes Unlimited, Palladium Fantasy, et al). I also experimented with GURPS, Paranoia, various comic book RPGs including Marvel FASERIP, Shadowrun and quite a few others. All told, I have run at least 200 different RPGs between then and the intervening years up to these modern nights. For those in the know, I was heavily involved with the Camarilla, and when I lost interest playing with them, I wrote my own rules based off of Laws of the Wyld, and ran a Werewolf: the Apocalypse LARP for a goodly number of years. I miss my LARPing years with the vigour of an Adren Fianna or a Silver Fang Galliard. My last RPG design effort was The Aethyrblood Chronicles (TABC), a cosmic horror/supers game. I am now designing a system agnostic rules set using revised mechanics that I developed for TABC, I will be looking for official playtesters soon. Message me if you are interested. I look forward to hearing from you, and together we will rule the universe with the power of the Dark Si.... well, together we can craft some most excellent stories. Let's wonder for a spell!

Character creation

Creating your character

Using a free account on D&D Beyond, you will create a Level 8 heroic adventurer, using any materials provided to you on the site and my master account (which will be "most" everything ever released). The character will need to be created before Session Zero, and I will approve it prior to that day. During Session Zero, we will have an Adventure Auction, wherein the players will Bid on a bit of the group's history and some advantages you'll have during the gala.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You might want to review your lore from previous settings. I can promise you that the following will be used, and you have the option to use others: Forgotten Realms Greyhawk Ravenloft Birthright Dark Sun Tal'Dorei Eberron Planescape Spelljammer And maybe others will join the list? But anyway, you will need a free account on D&D Beyond and Discord. Here are the links for each: https://www.dndbeyond.com/campaigns/join/69734372009767872 https://discord.gg/pSFK3F3ZjU

What Eiric E. Padráig brings to the table

This game is a very special presentation. I have never heard of a game being run in this manner - now, I am not claiming it's never been done, mind you. Regardless, this will be a Rule of Cool game with full realised characters (voices, personalities, goals, the works), but it will mostly be Theatre of the Mind with tactical combat only being used during *ahem*, very specific moments that I am planning for.

Homebrew rules

Any Homebrew will be placed on the D&D Beyond campaign page, but for right now, there won't be too much of it at all.

Safety

How Eiric E. Padráig creates a safe table

We will have a Session Zero. We will take breaks at the midpoint of every session. Finally, I do not use Stars and Wishes per say: I used "Rose, Bud, Thorn", which is almost the exact same. A Rose is something you enjoyed. A Bud is something you are looking forward to, and a Thorn is something you did not like.
