About the adventure
When the sun sets over the town of Velith, every door is barred and every lantern burns bright. The locals whisper that the darkness itself listens - that those who walk the streets after dusk vanish, some return whispering unknown languages and backwords riddles. Mysterious dolls have shown up around the town, many looking vaguely familiar, yet no one can place why. Your party is hired to break the curse, promised gold and artifacts beyond your imagination. As your party follows a lonely, lantern-lit road, you find things don't feel natural. Trees move too fluidly to the wind, the ground creaks where dirt should lie still, and there is an undeniable sense of doom watching over your every step. Deep in the mountains of Duskmere, something - or someone - awaits your arrival.

About me
Hi! My name is Fiadh (Fee-Ah), i have been a Dungeon Master at several tables for about 8 years now. I enjoy homebrew and custom games, but i have run a few modules along the way as well. I have performed in person and online. I enjoy creating an emersive atmosphere with in depth world and character lore with unlimited possibilities; this usually includes a reputation system, world laws, and extensive world history.

Creating your character
This is a one shot, so I am not super picky about your character creation! I prefer character sheets to be any of the following... Roll20, D&D Beyond, or Hand Made (template 5e, online is fine). Stats will be rolled in session 0. All official races and classes are allowed. Please feel free to use resources from 5E Tools as well! If it is on that website, it is allowed. Your level for this one shot will be level 6. I am always available for questions or concerns! Session 0 will have room at the end for character creation and questions as well.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please be prepared to join a discord server for this one shot. I will be using Roll20 to perform combat encounters, so please have an account ready to join.
What Fiadh/Fin brings to the table
I will provide various soundtracks and atmospheric effects where applicable. I like to be detailed with all five senses as i describe surroundings. I am not a quality Voice Actor, but i do my best! When it comes to combat, i like to keep it on the shorter side of description per action unless it is a major moment. This ensures combat is swift in one shots to keep it paced according to schedule. If you are in a full campaign with me, there is usually a larger amount of time blocked out for combat to make it more detailed. I like to provide many areas for roleplay and in-character interactions. Throughout session, i am entirely open to moments of joking around and having a good time as long as we are able to come back to center. I also tend to give puzzles and riddles. If there is ever a point when the party is genuinely stumped, i am always happy to point you all in the correct direction. A few rules to note: • (Dis)Advantage: a nat 20 or a nat 1 sticks, irregardless of your second or first roll. • Critical Hits: A critical damage hit is your maximum damage plus your roll • Healing Potions: taking an action to drink a potion automatically gives you the full effect of it. A bonus action will have you roll the healing amount. • If your character lands a final blow, the player gets to describe how they perform it. • All Nat 1's come with minor consequences, all Nat 20's come with a moment of greatness.

How Fiadh/Fin creates a safe table
All of my campaigns come standard with a session 0. This session will be a time we are able to discuss trigger and content warnings, set our mutual expectations for each other, and further discuss what can be expected from the campaign. Breaks are always encouraged. You can expect one 15 minute break per hour of playtime, more or less depending on players need. I disencourage requesting breaks in the middle of a description or active moments, but you may always privately message me through discord stating you are stepping away for X amount of time. Until that player returns, no major story moments will occur. I only ask you keep these breaks short to not miss anything. If at any point a player is uncomfortable, they may message me directly or speak freely that they are discomforted by [insert reason]. I will do my absolute best so resolve this.
