About the adventure
Operation Solstice Rain/Winter Scar is a high-stakes Lancer campaign set on the isolated planet of Cressidium, where political tensions threaten to erupt into all-out war. As Union Auxiliary pilots, you’ll be thrust into intense urban combat as part of a daring rescue operation amid a volatile diplomatic crisis. The fate of nations hangs in the balance, and it's up to you and your squad to survive and prove your worth under pressure. Every move matters, cover, positioning, and coordination can mean the difference between victory and getting torn apart. You'll customise your mech, adapt to new threats, and push your limits as a squad. Whether you're a veteran tactician or just learning the ropes, there's room to grow, fail, and come back stronger. Each mission leaves a mark, on your pilot, your build, and the story you’re shaping. Step into a world on edge, where quick thinking and smart choices make all the difference, but don't worry, you don’t have to be a super-spy to have fun. This is a place full of tense situations, tricky decisions, and plenty of opportunities for clever strategies. If you love tactical gameplay, tinkering with mech builds, and stories where your choices matter, this game's got you covered. Whether you're in it for the epic mech battles, clever problem-solving, or just some high-stakes galactic drama with a dash of fun, this campaign promises an engaging and exciting adventure every session.

About me
I’m a GM who thrives on strategy, creativity, and cinematic moments under pressure. I design encounters that challenge players to think, collaborate, and take bold risks, whether fine-tuning a mech in Lancer or exploring mythic realms in Bastionland. I’m fair and balanced, rewarding smart, heroic, or clever play, letting players learn from mistakes, and always keeping fun front and centre. My games are immersive, tactical, and story-driven, with every choice carrying weight and every session crafted to be exciting, memorable, and rewarding.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will take place before the first session to ensure we can dive straight into the action. New players are welcome, and I’ll guide you through the process step by step, whether it’s your first time with Lancer or you’re a seasoned mech pilot. Starting Level: Players begin at License Level 0 (LL0), ideal for rookies just entering the field. If the campaign has already seen multiple sessions, assume the starting level will be higher to reflect prior progress. Mech Creation: Your mechs will be created using https://compcon.app/ the free character builder tool for Lancer. This will make the process easy and efficient, as COMP/CON handles mech customisation and abilities. I’ll guide you through the process and make sure everything is set up before we start the campaign. Don't forget to the install the LCP's via either the Compendium Manager or joining my server for a quick zipfile linked in the discord. Grab some sprite art for your mech from this site by either creating it yourself and sending me the custom made one or choosing something from the chopshop! https://retrogrademinis.com Tools: Characters and mechs will be imported into FoundryVTT using the Comp/Con json files for easy access to character sheets, abilities, and mechs. If you’re new to Foundry, I’ll guide you through it at the start of the session. Books and Resources: We’ll be using the Lancer Core Rulebook and any first party modules. No additional homebrew content will be allowed. I’ll make sure everyone has the tools and support they need to create a character that’s both fun to play and fully integrated into the world.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please ensure you have a working microphone and access to discord as well as a quiet spot to play in. Be sure to use chrome for foundry and have hardware acceleration enabled.
What Quiescent Solun brings to the table
As your GM, I’m dedicated to providing an immersive and engaging experience while staying true to the core rules of Lancer. Here’s what you can expect from my sessions: Tactical Combat: Combat will be highly tactical, with a focus on positioning, mech abilities, and teamwork. The rules as written will be followed closely, and I’ll make sure to provide guidance to ensure everyone feels comfortable with the mechanics. Your decisions in combat will have real weight, and every action counts. Rules as Written: While I encourage creativity, I tend to stick closely to the rules as written to maintain consistency and fairness. This ensures that the game runs smoothly, and all players are on the same page. If you’re ever unsure about a rule, I’ll make sure to clarify and explain it, ensuring everyone is comfortable with the mechanics. SFX and Macros: I will be using macros and special effects to enrich the environment for the combat scenes, grenades will be thrown, core powers will be animated, cinematic moments enhanced with dramatic bars and explosions. Background Music & Sound Effects: To immerse you fully in the setting, I’ll use atmospheric music and sound effects. Whether it’s the hum of your mech’s engines or the tension of an incoming attack, music and sound will adjust to match the tone of the moment, adding to the excitement. Character Voices and NPCs: I use character voices to bring NPCs to life and make interactions feel dynamic. Each NPC will have their own personality and distinct voice, helping to enrich the world and your experience. Narration and Immersion: Expect vivid descriptions and detailed narration to draw you into the world. I’ll ensure you’re fully immersed, with each scene coming to life in your mind, whether it’s a calm briefing or the chaos of an intense firefight. You can expect a balanced experience, where both your tactical decisions and narrative choices shape the outcome of the game. My aim is to provide a session where the mechanics and the story come together to create a compelling and immersive experience.
Homebrew rules
I'm happy for players to do full respecs, including HASE scores, talents and skill triggers whenever we level up. I know how dreadful it feels to set up your build one way, only to realise you actually prefer another play style entirely! There will be an extra mission to bridge Solstice Rain and Winter Scar more cohesively, this mission is a Point Crawl entirely made by me. After Winter Scar is finished, I plan to finish the story and end the campaign. Operation Tempest Strike will involve an additional 2-3 missions. Operation Equinox will then finish us off with the last 2 missions.

Safety
How Quiescent Solun creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are top priorities in my games. I strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and supported throughout the campaign. Here’s how I ensure that: Session 0 & Expectations: In the first session, we’ll have a Session 0 where we go over important topics like tone, themes, and boundaries. This will be a collaborative space to discuss what players are comfortable with, and I’ll make sure everyone is on the same page regarding the themes of the campaign (e.g., espionage, combat, political tension). We’ll also review any sensitive or potentially triggering content, so everyone knows what to expect. Aftercare: After intense or emotional scenes, I’ll make time for aftercare, a brief check-in at the end of the session to make sure everyone is okay and to address any lingering feelings. I’ll also encourage players to share their thoughts, concerns, or feedback at any point during the campaign, and I’ll be receptive to adjusting the game if necessary to keep the experience enjoyable for everyone. Ongoing Communication: I believe in open, respectful communication throughout the game. If anyone ever feels uncomfortable or needs a break, I encourage them to reach out, whether during a session or privately. Your well-being is my top priority, and I will always work to make the game a safe, enjoyable space for all players.
