About the adventure
In the crazy world where everyone is a powerful martial artist, you and your friends have decided to journey to a town for your best friend Kyle's birthday. However, things immediately go awry when the tavern you've chosen has nothing to serve but bananas, and banana related drinks. As it turns out, the Banana Boys have taken over the town, and no one messes with the Banana Boys. Be prepared for Panic At The Dojo, a fun and bombastic system that mashes the concept of a fighting game with a TTRPG all about tactical combat and pulling off crazy maneuvers. Roleplay, activities between combat, and general choices will be a bit sparse as this is meant to be a fairly linear one-shot that will likely take 2-4 sessions to complete. This will adventure will be very combat focused. You will get the privilege of viewing my amazing MSPaint art.

About me
Hello, I've been a GM since 2010 starting out using World Of Darkness, which became Chronicles of Darkness for a good 8 years, and eventually settled into running Dungeons And Dragons 5e for the remaining time. I've branched out a little bit, toying with more obscure systems like Blades In The Dark, and Paranoia as a player, and have run a few one-shots with Panic At The Dojo. I've run several adventure modules as well as homebrew campaigns I fell in love with TTRPG's and the sheer amount of expression you can put into them, and I've always wanted to share my ideas and creations with people which led me to becoming a GM rather than just a player. I've even managed to create a homebrew-esque system from Chronicles Of Darkness to play battle royale styled games via play-boy-post that became so popular that even after I've stopped running them myself, an old player continues to run the homebrew themselves and has kept a niche community around it. I've been a huge fan of video games and anime my entire life, and much of my homebrew is based on the many games I've enjoyed and shows that I've watched. I'm a huge fan of subverting tropes and expectations, and love juxtaposing themes such as cute anime girls being embroiled in dark, heavy, and edgy themes. I'm also a furry who owns two fursuits with two sonas, with the main one being "Daiquiri" Doug who is my profile icon. Despite his nickname, he doesn't actually drink, and is usually the one serving drinks.

Creating your character
Character creation will be basic Panic At The Dojo rules. Player characters will choose to be Focused, Fused, or Frantic archetypes with 3 stances made from combining forms with styles from your archetype(s), then pick their build. Character creation for this game will be primarily done during session 0, but I will make all resources available beforehand to anyone who wishes to create a build beforehand.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should read through the rulebook for Panic At The Dojo, at least enough to create a character. Have a Discord and Roll20 account prepared as those are what I use for communication and the VTT to run games.
What James brings to the table
High octane hard hitting combat that requires tactics and teamwork in order to succeed. I will present crazy and whacky scenarios meant to get a good laugh out of everyone involved. Incredible strokes of artistry for the avatars and tokens of the Banana Boys created in MSPaint. I'm not particularly musically inclined so I don't really use music during my games, but I allow for players to play their own music on a discord music bot if they feel that they have something appropriate for the mood. I will provide The Bananas.
Homebrew rules
I am using almost everything from the Champ'd Up Patch for Panic At The Dojo. I've tried my best to cobble together all the rule changes that the patch makes throughout the various channels in this discord. I do not use XP or leveling up from the Champ'd up patch, but I do give everyone access to Super Moves. I do not uses the contests in Champ'd up, and stick to the original Troubles and Skills from the original edition of the book as I just find it to be simpler and more fun than arbitrarily rolling a bunch of dice to get to the next fight scene.

How James creates a safe table
I use both lines and veils as well as the X card in my games. I don't have a specific document, but I will always ask my players to private message me of any lines or veils they may have will be before session 0 of the campaign so that I can tailor the experience to their needs. Players can employ an X card at any point if the content of the game takes a turn towards something that makes them uncomfortable, either by DMing me in private if they wish to remain anonymous, or by drawing a big X on the map of the game to get my attention. After sessions I will always try to employ aftercare and allow players a safe space to speak to me in public or private about how the game is making them feel, whether good or bad. I will also always be open to help those who need to talk about events outside of the game if they need someone to listen.
