About the adventure

A traditional West Marches game in Draw Steel. Open to all players, regardless of experience with the system or TTRPGs in general. This campaign is meant to be player-focused. Players can hop in and out of the campaign when convenient. If you can't play week-to-week? That's fine! Save your character sheet, and join in when you can. In a West Marches-style game, the players will start in a safe, central area, and then adventure out into the world, discovering new features of the map as they go and attempt to make it back to safety before the end of the session and share what they've discovered. The players have the power to decide when and what they want to do as the Director facilitates the adventures for them. Bring the Tactical, Heroic, Cinematic, Fantasy.

About me

Hello everyone! I have been GM-ing for almost a decade, over the years bringing my experience in theater and acting to tell cinematic and heroic stories with my game groups. I have played mostly 5e D&D, as well as various editions therein, as well as several other games and systems that I have grown to love. I consider my tables open to all types. I like to build stories that are inclusive while fostering an environment where the players have just as much (if not more) of an impact as the story as I do. That being said, I have a low tolerance for troublemakers and those not acting with the best of intentions for everyone at the table, and have no problem confronting those I suspect are ill-intentioned. All in all, I'm a big fan of various ttrpg safety tools and value open communication.

Character creation

Creating your character

All players joining for the 1st time will have to create a new character for this campaign using Draw Steel's rules. Returning players can use their established characters or make new ones. Rules and Materials will be provided before the 1st session, and players should have complete characters done by then. I can walk you through every step of the way if help is needed.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You should have the following: Access to the internet A Discord account Able to communicate through voice chat and video Once signed up, you'll receive an invite to the West Marches Discord Server. There, discussions regarding character creation, campaign expectations, and safety tools can begin.

What Christian brings to the table

Since this is a new game and meant to be a learning experience, I will walk everyone through every step of the way. I will provide a discord server temporarily, along with pdfs of the rules, character sheets, and other materials. Draw Steel is a pretty intense game, not difficult, but the tactical-ness of it does demand players pay attention. Having said that, we'll be taking things slow, no one should feel any pressure to have everything down perfectly right away.
