About the adventure
Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to play in a Critical Role game? I've wondered myself that, too! I am no Matt Mercer, but you can bet your dice I will work my best to run a fun, epic campaign the likes you and I both enjoy watching. The player characters are veterans and survivors of the last war, tasked with a secret mission: to bring the last heir to the throne back from exile and help them reclaim their kingdom! This will be a medium length campaign, aimed at high drama and fast action. The Darggerheart rules system provides a narrative focused game with some nice tactical options to get you engaged. And it's very easy to learn, too! If you are a big fan of shows like Game of Thrones and Avatar the Last Airbender, or games like Dragon Age and Fire Emblem, this game is for you.

About me
I'm a bilingual English/Spanish GM, an avid reader and a TTRPG geek with more than 30 years of experience running games. I love reading fantasy and SciFi stories, trying new game systems and tinkering with the rules, procedures and game expectations in general. I love to cheer for my players when their characters overcome challenges and triumph against all odds. I enjoy running many different games, but I think OSR games are the ones I'm most comfortable running right now. I also ran World of Darkness/ Chronicles of Darkness games for many years with a "play to find what happens" ethos. I'm also currently hyped with Daggerheart so I want to explore the possibilities of this new game. When I asked my long-time players what they liked about my GMing, they mostly say I'm pretty good at improvising on the fly and incorporating their ideas into our game sessions, I'm very dedicated to the game, rules and lore, and I'm also creative and just fun to be around.

Creating your character
I will host a session 0 to talk about safety tools, themes of the campaign and to create the player characters (PCs). I will also offer pregenerated characters, in case any such is needed. The PCs all start at level 1, and I estimate they will reach level 4 by the campaign's climax. It's highly encouraged that each player owns a copy of the Daggerheart Core Rulebook, but is not mandatory. If you happen to use Demiplane and have an account there, you can use that platform to create your character. Void content is allowed, at https://www.daggerheart.com/thevoid/, though the GM have the final say over any character concept that players come up with.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a computer with internet access, a Discord account, a microphone, and speakers. A webcam is optional. We will roll dice in Owlbear Rodeo, an easy to use virtual tabletop that you can join from your web browser. Optional: You can read the Daggerheart System Reference Document for free at https://www.daggerheart.com/srd/
What Javi brings to the table
I will provide a safe and open space to share the imaginary world we are immersed together, the better to enjoy the game. I'm an experienced GM with lots of experience teaching the game's rules and all the character options, managing social expectations and arbitrating rules issues. The game will feature a strong emphasis in intrigue and daring action. Characters will be best served if they have connections to existing factions or key NPCs (which will be expanded upon during Session 0). Personal values and deep emotional connections are the source of character drama, so think about this before joining in this campaign.

How Javi creates a safe table
When joining, please share your Lines and Veils. I personally have a HARD LINE for sexual themes, racism, bigotry, and discussion of real-world politics. If lines/veils need to be shared beyond that, please do so. I encourage everyone to come to my gaming table with a spirit of collaboration, empathy and great fun. Be a good sport, share the spotlight, be a fan of the other player characters, and behave with others like you would like to be treated. I will be hosting a Session 0 to discuss expectations, themes and to create characters. I will also explain the Lines and Veils safety tool, in order to put everyone on the same page. During session, I have an open door policy. If for any reason a player needs to take some time off the game they can do so at any time, no questions asked, and return whenever they see fit. I will also use the X card safety tool to offer everyone the chance to interrupt the game if any aspect of it goes in a direction that is uncomfortable or unsafe, no questions asked.
