About the adventure
It isn't unknown to the village the current disappearances of children and sick people in the outskirts of your hometown. However, these events have become more frequent. Only the bravest in the village dare walk past its improvised gate, and you are one of the few folk brave enough to go even deeper into the forest, which once was ours. Welcome to a Legend in the Mist campaign. Things work a bit differently if you come from other TTRPGs, but no worries, session 0 will be a bit faster, so we can get into a bit of a tutorial on how exactly these rules work! Enjoy the ride, the freedom of the system, and the mysteries we'll unveil in our sessions! After an initial arc with different kinds of magick in play, our heroes are still unveiling the mystery of the village when a new path opens before them, you can join and be part of this great mystery before us!

About me
For me TTRPGs are a path towards the creation of characters and worlds that we can immerse ourselves in, learn new ways to interact and have fun and with each other! I am a seasoned TTRPG player for 8+ years, only reason I never GMed was because of a single reason "Rules as Written". I was told this idea that the DM should always have the world all on their own and use the book as a fixed guide for encounters and roleplay. Now that I know "Rule of Cool" exists, my approach to TTRPGs has completely changed and I can now enjoy all the years of learning the games and the new systems that allow more freedom and roleplay. As a Pychologist I believe in creating safe spaces for people at the table at all times, no matter the theme or stakes of a game. As a teacher it is my duty to continue learning and teaching whenever I can, so I love the approach to new game systems and "Learn and Play" templates When it comes to safety expect special attention to "Session 0" and a homebrew addition called "Continuos boundaries at the table".

Creating your character
To create a character, we can join a Discord call so I can bring you up to speed, as the campaign just finished its first Arc. I will walk you through the creation process and give you a summary of the events in the story!
Malgrith, a grumpy AGES-old Dragon with the power of the night sky Branwen, the daughter of the mayor and now the voice of her people, from librarian to rune-carver Fionn, a hunter who lost himself in the woods, found his way to the Fey realm and is now beginning to accept who he really is. And the town of Malbend is in great danger of Shadows and magic, none of us begins to understand Who will YOU be in this story?
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you haven't already, I highly encourage you to play the free Demo on this webpage: https://sonofoak.com/pages/legend-in-the-mist?srsltid=AfmBOorfKqQMG_4BSyXYRYd52iOUKttQuJZWoJN97NkX3XFYH4-oi_yw Otherwise, get an idea of the character you'd want to play, but hold gently, as the idea could change at any point you see fit, based on the dynamic at the table!
What Profesor Haltr brings to the table
I love building stories from characters' ideals, backstories, and motivations. With that, I will bring twists and character arcs! I love making weird and bold acting choices, voices, and descriptions to make believable and/or wild interpretations. My style relies on improv basics, such as "yes, and" & "No, but". Lastly, for as much as I love playing with characters' emotions, as a psychologist, my goal is to always look out for everyone's fun and safety at the table. As well as cooldowns and debreifs to allow emotions to flow naturally and not end things abruptly.
Homebrew rules
At times, the Rule of Cool may lead to the creation of new powers and expressions of magic and abilities.

How Profesor Haltr creates a safe table
My session 0 normally runs through the CATS process and places specific emphasis on the Lines and Veils system to make sure everyone agrees on the themes we'll be going through. Additionally, you can expect Stars and Wishes at the end of each session to continuously improve! Since the game has started, we'll have a mini-introduction to the campaign and people at the table so we can establish new lines and veils. If at any point you feel unsafe or a topic that wasn't discussed in Session 0 is triggering, we can easily skip it, either by interjecting the scene (I don't mind breaking character for safety) or simply sending a private message.
