About the adventure
This is a learn-to-play one shot for Critical Role's new RPG system, Daggerheart. This is an amazing, roleplay first system that is easy to pick up and play. This adventure takes place in the Sablewood, an ancient, expansive forest of trees that reach hundreds of feet into the air. Rumored to be older than the Forgotten Gods, this dense wood is widely known throughout the Mortal Realm, and many who visit are surprised to learn that the stories they believed were exaggerated legends are, in fact, stark truths. I will start the game by introducing ourselves, deciding as a group whether we want to use the prewritten characters or make characters ourselves (which I will walk you through), then you, the brave adventurers, will set off on a journey, the success of which shall forever change the course of the fate of the Sablewood.

About me
Hey there! My name is Austin Simmons, and I have been consistently running weekly TTRPGs for the last several years. I started as a player in a Tomb of Annihilation game back in 2017 at a local game store and I have been hooked ever since. In my desire to play as much as possible I picked up the mantle of the DM and the rest is history. I have run groups through Phandelver, Curse of strahd, Tomb of Annihilation, and more. I have run a few powered by the apocalypse games, my favourite of which is easily monster of the week. I am also a college student entering my final year in the bachelor of education program at my school. I currently hold the position of TTRPG leader which entails organizing events for people to access these wonderful games, teaching them, running them, and playing them.

Creating your character
We will likely use the prewritten characters that the Sablewood adventure comes with unless everyone wants to try their hand at making an original Daggerheart character. If everyone is in agreement about wanting to create their own, we will do it as a group at the beginning of the session.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Welcome to Daggerheart! I cant wait to get started, and I look forward to meeting you! Before we begin, there are a few things I need you to do to help smooth out the start of our adventure: Step 1: Here is the roll20 link to join our virtual tabletop! This will allow us to play the game on a virtual gaming table straight in our browser. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one! https://app.roll20.net/join/20375978/q5VahA Step 2: This is the the link to the campaign in Demiplane. This will allow you to manage your select, create, and manage your character sheet. https://app.demiplane.com/share/naabW30?utm_source=demiplane&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=666305 Step 3: Lastly I would like you to fill out this survey. It is called a Lines and Veils survey and it is a safety tool that will allow me to see what themes are off limits or simply not preferable to my players. Everyone deserves to have a good time and that means that everyone deserves to have their voices heard: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfrzSBuhnSZT1O6qb5US0Y4gqw1A2DMjgkPbGFRR0szyFdrAg/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=109137595918567409594
