About the adventure

It is Summertime under the reign of King Jaeherys, the Peaceful. The realm has been quiet, no trouble stirring. Then one night, unexpectedly, the kings two male heirs, Heagar and Raelar, mysteriously disappear. Rumours and whispers of foul play stir in the walls of the Red Keep. The King is old, and now the question of succession falls to the Small Council. Are there powers at work to usurp the Targaryen Dynasty, or can you find a peaceful conclusion to this dilemma? You will be 6th level members of the Small Council (or other nobles of the high court with positions of influence) reluctantly working together to keep your own necks, and keep the realm from falling into civil war. This One Shot will potentially turn into a larger scale campaign if the players and GM mesh well.

About me

Welcome Adventurers, one and all! My name is Connor, I've been running games in the TTRPG space for 5 years now, creating epic, story-driven campaigns tailored to give my players a story that centres around and champions them! I'm an actor and writer, so my skills there lean heavily in to my GM style - you'll get wacky voices, crazy sound effects and detailed plots. I love collaboration, making sure the game is fulfilling your needs, making sure everyone at the table is comfortable as we craft these stories together! So let's jump in! There's always a seat at the table waiting for you.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players can create their character sheets on their preferred VTT (or physical if they’d prefer) and share it with me. We’ll work together to weave their backstories into the plot and create some really interesting dynamics!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We’ll be running our session over Discord video call, so a microphone is essential, and video camera is encouraged, but if people aren’t comfortable with that, that’s fine. Otherwise, people can keep track of their character sheets (I’ll be using Roll20 for NPCs and Monsters).

What Connor Duvenage brings to the table

I bring my skills as an actor and writer to the table. I'll be doing all of the wacky character voices, appropriate accents and roleplay. I love having ambient music during sessions (though I'm not the best DJ for mixing!!). I'm a big GOT fan, and I'm ALMOST an encyclopaedia of lore, and I have a deep understanding of the world, which I'll be using to keep the campaign true and authentic, while also being able to do our own thing with it. Massive Rule of Cool believer, as it's a homebrew setting, the rules for me are a loose guide, and we'll do what the players and I want. Combat can be as light or intense as players are comfortable with, but I'll always try to add a unique twist or environment to interact with to keep you on your toes!

Homebrew rules

Critical Successes for Skill Checks (Which I feel should be an actual rule! I like to reward good rolls with cool stuff) I don't have any specific rules, but we'll bend the rules in the moment for whatever feels most appropriate to the story. It'll always be a conversation for what feels fair.

Safety

How Connor Duvenage creates a safe table

Players can expect a chill environment, that can slowly ramp up into serious roleplay as people get involved. Out-of-game, out-of-character chats can pause the game whenever necessary, I'm also open to private discourse with each player to ensure everyone's having a good time, and we can steer away from topics at a moment's notice. Super informal, friendly and fun!
