About the adventure
This game is designed for new and veteran D&D players. It will be a mix of heroic fantasy adventure mixed with ruling (and warring) kingdoms. You will enjoy this game if you like to play an epic fantasy (consistent) campaign that will take you from levels 1-30. Yes, I said it, this game includes adapted legendary levels (21-30) for all classes of 5e 2024. As you can see, this game will be dedicated to a living and changing continent of Cerilia, the central continent of the Birthright setting. You will love this game if you enjoy advancing your character through all D&D levels, tactical challenges of dungeon crawling, and (optional) the strategy of ruling and defending your kingdom from evil armies. It takes place in the Birthright setting (from AD&D 2e, 1994) adapted to 5e, a setting that helped inspire George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones. We will play a game of heroic adventure mixed with nobles, monarchs, and political intrigue. Every player will have the opportunity to gain their own stronghold and even conquer their own kingdom! Not only will you play in the sessions with your fellow players but you will join a growing community of monarchs (kingdom players) in our world and possibly starting wars with other kingdoms. Players will have a part to play in the adventuring, development, and conquering of Cerilia, with each player having a connected bloodline to one of the ancient Houses of Cerilia. You start with your heroic player character and if you so choose, gain a stronghold at level 9.

About me
I have been a Forever Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons, in all editions after the Whitebox, for over 35 years. I love this game. As a former actor (many, many years ago) I relish the storytelling, heroic fantasy, and kingdom warfare. Most of all, I always work to make an enjoyable game for all at the table by defining the type of characters, adventures, and stories we want to make. It's not just my game; it's not just your game; it's our game. Come join me. Tell your story, make our stories epic, and make our adventures fun!

Creating your character
After signup and before the game begins, players will be given a Character Creation PDF that will describe how to build characters for Birthright. If a player signs up last-minute, a pregenerated character may be offered for the session. Characters will be created before heading into the first session. A free, shorter Session 0 will be held for introductions, defining our play-styles, answering questions, establishing character backgrounds and relationships, introduction to Foundry VTT, and refining character builds.
I do not recommend multiple of the same character types in the same group both for coverage and for spotlight. When you join the Discord channel, work together to have a unique party makeup.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This game will be held on Foundry VTT with Discord, and you need a well-functioning desktop or laptop with a good internet connection to play. You will be given a link to join each session.
What Villagelder brings to the table
As a former performer and a Dungeon Master for over 35 years, you will get quality interactive games. Games will feature combat, exploration, story, and a narrator invested in the NPCs and story. I often do voices but cannot guarantee every voice will be different with the hundreds of NPCs you may encounter. I also use onscreen graphics, traversable maps, some animated tokens, automated digital interactions, background music, and more to make a professional three-hour production.
Homebrew rules
Any homebrew rules will be covered in the player handout given at the beginning of the campaign. As the DM crafts more ideas, they will be disseminated to players for use between sessions.

How Villagelder creates a safe table
I run a safe and accepting game for all players. In session 0, I review, and I will ask for, any trigger topics but I generally run a game that lies somewhere between PG-13 and R rated.
