About the adventure
Join the adventure and delve into a unique world in this Daggerheart campaign! Using Theater of the Mind and emphasizing collaborative storytelling, this is a roleplay heavy campaign for beginners and seasoned adventures alike who like to help shape the world through their character's actions. As a GM, I love to tie in player backstories as much as possible and encourage character development and meaningful character arcs in my campaigns. Session Zero is always free to make sure it's a good fit before you commit, so if you've been interested in giving Daggerheart a try (or already know you like it) and want High Fantasy with even higher emotional stakes, I look forward to meeting you! A brief premise for this campaign is below. ~~~ The war in Pyndell is finally over. But as the people start to put their lives back together, a new threat emerges. Soldiers from the same unit can't agree on how the war ended. Farmers can't remember what crops they planted. Noblemen can't seem to keep straight who their allies and adversaries are, or have been in the past. Even more dire, people are showing up at the temples having completely forgotten who they are or where they're from. And it seems to be getting worse. What is causing this? And, more importantly, how can it be stopped?

About me
Hi, I'm RJ! I started playing TTRPGs in 2012 as a player for a game my spouse was running and instantly fell in love. A couple of years after my first game, I started GMing my own campaign. As much as I loved being a player, I fell in love with being a GM even more. I've used several different systems over the years, but I have the most experience with D&D 5e and Dungeon World. Most recently I've been GMing Daggerheart which has quickly become a favorite for me.

Creating your character
We will start with Level 1 characters. It's good to come with an idea of what Class and Ancestry you'd like to play as, but not necessary as character creation itself will happen all together during Session Zero. You can refer to the free resources on the Daggerheart site to see different options. In addition to the Core classes, Void material is also acceptable.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need to join the Discord server for voice. You'll also need a Demiplane account for character sheets linked with a Roll20 account. We will use Roll20 to roll dice, keep virtual handouts organized and accessible, and for visual aids.
What RJ brings to the table
Players will have full access to any source books I have on Roll20. That is also where players will be able to find all handouts, session notes, Lines and Veils, etc. I will also make those things available in the Discord if anyone would like. I value clear communication and collaborative storytelling at my tables. The world and plot may be created by me, but I want my players to help fill it out. I believe this type of collaboration leads to more investment, and therefore more fun, for the players. Players can expect games that use emotional stakes to drive things forward and visual aids to help support primarily Theater of the Mind play, though I do use maps for games or tables when needed. I'm not a professional voice actor by any means, but I try to give each NPC a distinct voice as best as I can. As for rules, I believe they are meant to support the story and make things more interesting, but sometimes bending those rules makes for a more fun experience and fun will always be the priority at my table.

How RJ creates a safe table
There will be a link to anonymously send me any Lines and Veils, which I will compile into a document that everyone will have access to at all times. The link will also remain active so players can add any Lines or Veils at any time and I will always let the table know when any changes have been made. Players can also tell me and/or the table directly any Lines or Veils if they'd prefer. During Session Zero, we will go over all Lines and Veils that have been sent to me, talk about if anyone has anything they'd like to add, go over the use of the digital X,N,O cards, and discuss what Debriefing at the end of each session will look like. At the end of each session, players are encouraged to offer feedback on things they enjoyed, things they would like to see happen, and to bring up any concerns.
