Hi, I'm Jett (they/them)! I’ve been playing TTRPGs for over a decade and have been a GM/DM for 9 years, running games online here on SPG, at bar events, game stores, and board game clubs in NYC, and at many lovely home tables far and wide! Creating your character
We will have a proper session 0 to talk through character ideas as a group, but players will be provided with question prompts and materials ahead of time so they can brainstorm and show up to Session 0 with options! We will start as level 1 characters. All official materials welcome, 3rd party/homebrew options possible with DM approval. We will decide as a group whether we want to go with 2014 or 2024 rules.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should create a Roll20 account and Discord account if they do not have them already (both are free). We'll use Roll20 for our VTT/rolls and Discord for voice, video, and music. Voice is required. Video is optional, but highly encouraged. Players are welcome to use D&D Beyond for character sheets and roll with the Beyond20 integration or physical dice on the honor system. Players must provide DM with up-to-date character sheet for reference (or in case of player absence).
What Jett brings to the table
Players can expect great maps, character art, and atmospheric music (and maybe some sound effects!) to enhance their experience. I am a roleplay-foreward DM, and will bring a variety of character voices and committed performances to immerse you in the world. Every player character will be connected to the world and the setting, and there will be opportunities to explore your own character's growth and interests alongside the main plot. I love weaving PC stories in with the established plot! That said, there's plenty of good tactical combat in this campaign, and problem-solving will be equal parts strategy, social, and combat. Rule of cool observed when warranted!
Homebrew rules
I still do flanking as long as everyone is down. Potions as bonus action even if we're doing 2014 rules. Open to other house rules with full-party consensus.

How Jett creates a safe table
Safety is important! All of my games focus on creating a safe and inclusive space for play and are a safe place for folks of marginalized experience. All are welcome as long as you share and abide by this value! If that doesn't sound fun to you, this probably ain't yer table 🙃 Players will be provided with a content survey based on the Monte Cook RPG consent checklist ahead of time. Indicated content flags will be shared with the group anonymously and will be strictly observed. X card will be available on the table, and we will resolve any time-outs with Luxton Technique. We will also take one or two structured breaks during the session, but observe an Open Door policy. Players may message the DM any concerns anonymously at any time and indicate how they would like any issues addressed, or are welcome to share concerns with the group for resolution according to their level of comfort. DM reserves the right to remove any player who violates the community rules or crosses established content boundaries for the safety and enjoyment of the group. TLDR; be sweet to each other, yeah? Yeah!
