About the adventure
My world is inspired by many fantasy inspirations, with Dark Souls standing as its most prominent muse. In this realm, the stars themselves are divine entities, each burning with a quiet desperation as they search for a mysterious red energy that seems to hold cosmic significance. Mortals are caught in this celestial drama—some rise as noble heroes, others fall into the seductive embrace of cults that worship sin and the blade, and still others become assassins whose sole purpose is to hunt those who dare to shine too brightly. The setting pulses with mystery, high fantasy grandeur, and the gritty tension of urban intrigue, creating a world where every alleyway might hide a secret and every temple might house a god. As a Dungeon Master, I strive to be a balance between structure and spontaneity. I craft set pieces—moments of drama, danger, and discovery—but also allow players to linger, explore, and shape the narrative at their own pace. My campaigns are not railroaded stories but living epics, responsive to the choices and personalities of the characters within them. I take time to understand each player’s character, offering thoughtful suggestions for backstories that tie them meaningfully into the world. This collaborative spirit makes my games feel more personal, where players aren't just adventurers—they're co-authors of the mythos. My style is welcoming and adaptable, especially for newcomers. I'm patient, beginner-friendly, and open to both microphone and text-based play, ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table regardless of their comfort level. I do use homebrew content—monsters, spells, and items—that feel organic, inspired by existing mechanics but tailored to the setting. With sessions that run for at least three hours, I try to give players time to sink into the story, explore their characters, and experience the world’s depth. To me, D&D isn’t just a game—it’s a shared journey into the unknown, where mystery and myth unfold one choice at a time. Lastly, I rarely use battle maps as I find them to slow down the combat too much for newer players, indeed this does lead to some spells being less viable and I apologize for that. I like using theater of the mind and that is my main way of running combat.

About me
Dungeons and Dragons, and creating worlds has become my entire life. I have played in only a handful of groups as a player but as a DM I have ran over a dozen games. Fantasy is my favorite genre, and my very first world was inspired by dark souls. If you wish to play some beginner-friendly DnD, please stop by and play a game with me

Creating your character
I prefer for players to create their characters before the first session. I am fine with the standard ways of deciding stats, example: point buy, standard array, or rolling d6's. Feel free to create characters on paper, on D&D Beyond, or any other website or service that works for you. Players will create level-two adventurers using the content in and compatible with D&D 5e. In this setting, the artificer class is not available, example: Critical Role's d&d 5e content
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The first step is to join my discord server. The next step is to ask me if you can use your desired race and class. There is a lot of content that is compatible with 5th edition, but artificer for example, can do many things that I don't wish players to do. After that, simply make your character level two
What Kameron “Abel” Bonnett brings to the table
the Rule of Cool is my best friend but I do also enjoy rules. I am a rules first DM who wants my players to have fun and look cool, so I can bend rules here and there when it makes sense. I love doing character voices but it is not my strong suit. I prioritize world-building and creating scenarios where players can insert themselves. Mostly I am bringing a world, but I will need players' help to bring it alive
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion as a bonus action is the main homebrew rule that I use. Other than that, I do sometimes use my own created rules for random things, like ship combat

How Kameron “Abel” Bonnett creates a safe table
In session zero, I will go over three main things: the world, the characters, and the players. The players are the most important thing to talk about, and I will be focusing on what each player is hoping to get out of this campaign. My X, N, & O's will also be covered during the session zero. I wish for everyone to be comfortable but I also want everyone to have fun
