About the adventure

❄️⚡ From Ice to Apocalypse ⚡❄️ Campaign: Rime of the Frostmaiden → Vecna: Eve of Ruin Levels: 1–20 System: D&D 5e (2024 rules compatible) Platform: Foundry VTT + D&D Beyond + Discord 🧊 The Frozen North Beckons... About me

I, like many others, started my DnD journey during the Pandemic. I immediately fell in love with the game. I jumped in with both feet becoming a DM for a local group within the first 3 months of starting as a player. I have a passion for storytelling and really want to bring my games to others and being able to make money from such a passion is really a dream for me. I want to do my best to provide an amazing experience to everyone, at a fair price, and make the story and adventure and your character's story the forefront of the experience! I am absolutely 100% inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly.

Character creation

Creating your character

How will character creation work Character creation will be done in D&D beyond in a campaign group I will provide the link to. Any homebrew stuff must be approved by myself.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

How to prepare You will require a good computer with at least a half decent mic. Webcam is optional but is easier to interact with everyone if we can see each other. You'll need a D&D beyond account(free level is fine) And a Discord account(free) There is no download or anything to sign up for to use foundry. Foundry will not run on cellphone or tablet devices 😞 A cursory idea of how the game is played would be helpful but I'm willing to help out new players to learn as we go too. Most importantly you must have a willingness to have fun and let everyone else have fun too 😀

What Jason brings to the table

I will provide a setting, the world in which the game is played. I will have maps, music and player handouts. I use a fair bit of 3rd party content from maps to handouts to entire quests. I also own all the books on d&d beyond and can share that content with my players for character creation/development. I will provide a private discord group with private channels for each player and seperate channels for in character discussion and out of character chat.

Homebrew rules

Table rules: It's a bonus action to take a healing potion or to feed one to a downed creature (like in 2024 rules) but you can also use a full action to take full healing from it. Hidden initiative: until a creature's turn in initiative, it will be hidden from everyone else. Hidden death saves so only the dm (me) knows what you rolled on a death save. Critical hits will be max dice plus the Roll and modifier Inspiration, you can use your inspiration after you have rolled to give yourself advantage on the roll, unless it was a critical fail.

How Jason creates a safe table

Gameplay details We will have an in person (virtualy) session zero wherein I will go over what you can expect from me and the game and what I expect from my players. Session zero will be free of charge and will be roughly 1 hour of discussion/ q&a, 1 hour of Foundry basics and 2 hours of game play with a quick bio break at the halfway point.
