About the adventure

An invading military is winning. Led by a relentless, nearly unkillable general, they've taken most of the eastern seaboard and are consolidating power in the nearby towns. You have been living in an isolated monastery for one reason or another and have been doing odd jobs for the nearby towns. You have met many of the locals and see how this war is affecting them. But something more sinister than an invading army moves on the periphery of people’s lives. Strange animals have been spotted in the nearby hinterlands, and more people have been going missing than you would expect. Most say it’s the army taking prisoners or killing indiscriminately, but your gut tells you something more is happening. But all is not lost! Gather powerful and excentric allies to push back the chaos. There are those who see the various adversarial forces and are moving to counter them. In this custom, sandbox style adventure, you can help the failing resistance, seek out the source of the strange corruption, or even create trade routes in the rapidly changing political environment. Can you stem the tide?

About me

Hi! My name is Caleb Ince and I have been playing TTRPGs for almost a decade. The first game I ever played was in high school with some friends playing 4th edition and I loved it. A few years later, I got swept up in the 5e craze and now, I have a large group of friends who all love TTRPGs and all who have gm'ed at some point.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will spend session 0 going over expectations and character creation for the campaign. Pre-generated characters will be provided but feel free to come with a character concept, build, backstory, or idea, and we will roll stats together on the virtual tabletop. If you would like to start building your character before hand feel free using the following methods: 🐲 We will use the D&D 5e 2024 rules mostly but if there is something in the 2014 rules you would like, I can accomadate. 📖 Core rule books encouraged, but any mainline WOTC product is ok. 🔧 If you own the books or digital media great, but if not, I recommend using 5e Tools for reference as they are comprehensive, easy to navigate, and free. A link to this site will be included at the end of this section. 🎭 A backstory would be great! But don't feel the need to write a novel. Keeping it to a few paragraphs and no more than a page of content, helps me read and keep track of everything. 🌱 We will start at level 3 and use milestone leveling. 📈 Stats will be determined by rolling 4d6, ignoring the lowest die, and tallying the result. We will roll these stats during session 0. https://5e.tools/index.html

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have: 📱 A Discord account for communication during the session. 🎤 A working microphone and a quiet space. 📷 Use of a camera is highly encouraged, but if you don't have one or would prefer voice only that is ok. 🛜 Stable internet. 🎲 A Roll20 account. It's free to use and if you have any questions dont hesitate to reach out at any point.

What Caleb brings to the table

I love wacky and wild solutions to simple problems, and this is the space for it. It's cool enough and makes sense, it's happening. You will experience: 🎵 Atmospheric music and ambiance 🗣️ Expressive character voices 🗺️ Clear battle maps 📖 Intriguing stories and plots

Safety

How Caleb creates a safe table

I want to make this an inclusive and fun experience and if you require any accommodations, please feel free to reach out at any time. During the session 0, our first meeting, we will go over expectations and any necessary character creation. We will discuss what we will and won't include in the adventure, and the tools to ensure everyone is comfortable during our sessions. I will send out a Lines and Veils document before the session. Feel free to interface with it as you need to. Additionally, we will use XNO cards during play. There will be a macro on roll20 that you can use freely. If you have any questions about how they work, feel free to ask at any time. You will never have to justify anything you put on the Lines and Veils document, or something you X. Though, I may ask you for clarification on the triggering material before we move on.
