About the adventure

The Old World is gone. Morality and hope are few and far between. For 20 years now Armageddon has been unfolding, forces of the celestial throne and the forces of the abyss waging a war that never seems to end. Prepare to step in a world that may already be too far gone to save. This is a level 3-20 campaign that embraces a darker, grittier tone. It isn't just a question of whether you can make a difference, but if you can survive. Experience unique subclass options, mystic artefacts, and otherworldly forces of biblical proportions. Sometimes literally.

About me

Hello! My name is Spencer, or Saber99 in many corners online. I am 24 years old and started my tabletop experience 9 years ago. Games have always been a passion of mine, and I've come to find that the best feelings you can get are by sharing a solid gaming experience with others, one of my all-time favorite adventures being Curse of Strahd. For the past 2 of those 9 years I've branched into the realm of GMing, weaving stories for those wanting to have a great adventure. I want to encourage a healthy gaming environment, one where we understand expectations, one where we invite a strong blend of lighthearted enjoyment and compelling seriousness. A mix of roleplay and combat let's give life to the characters in our minds. Being a GM isn't just your enjoyment, it's the enjoyment of everyone, and I am ready to expand my horizons even further beyond!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be a combination of work prior to first session, and some of first session to hash out the details. This campaign uses 5E as the core, but subclass options and some background options will be limited to setting specific options, options I will share with pdfs/examples from the books for this setting. For further context, this setting uses "Apocalisse - John's Guide to Armageddon" and 'Inferno - Dante's Guide to Hell" as source material, books made by Archeron Games. This is a Level 3-20 adventure, beginning in the City of Babilonia. After signing up I will guide you through making a character for the setting, determining stats, tone of character, etc.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I ask my players to be familiar with Discord, Roll20, and be fairly experienced with DnD 5E, with of course the openness to be in a higher-level setting as we will be delving into higher levels of play. Something I will reiterate more than once is that this is intended to be a darker, more-grim reality. Lightheartedness and good times are to be had for sure, but this is a disclaimer over the content you may experience in this campaign.

What Saber99 brings to the table

I bring a blend of tense combat and explorative settings, aiming to embrace the idea of giving your character a challenging but ultimately fruitful journey. I may play the villain, but I want you to succeed. I am open to characters exploring options to solve problems, have their defining moment.

Safety

How Saber99 creates a safe table

I will provide an editable safety document, and I support the use of X, N, and O's in my games. Yes, the tone of this campaign is darker, but player safety should never be sacrificed.
