Banes of Beleriand (Learn to Play The One Ring 2e)
It was strange to have Tom Bombadil ask a group of strangers to aid a Dúnedain; stranger still was what the aid involved, and what was discoved.

About the adventure
In Banes of Beleriand, we are exploring the time in between The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. While familiarity with Tolkien's work is welcomed, it is not required. The One Ring excels in a diversity of tone; we will have shocking adventures, arduous journeys, and welcome reprieve as the company finds rest. The overall story is one of preservation, of everyday people thrust into situations far outside their comfort zones. This campaign works best with consistent players, but I can always add or remove players as demand and schedules require.

About me
I have worked in private game design as Sortilege since 2018. Typically I run games in-person at venues around the Twin Cities. I love teaching new systems and settings to new players: those who have never played an RPG before, or who maybe have only played Dungeons & Dragons before.

Creating your character
I will provide access to all relevant sourcebooks, and we will discuss character ideas together before locking them in. Someone relatively new but not averse to adventuring is preferred.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a webcam and a microphone, and I recommend using a PC or laptop so that you can best utilize the character sheets and maps/handouts. However, I have used a tablet successfully; a phone will not be sufficient.
What Jordan Peacock brings to the table
We will play via Discord voice & video chat, and utilizing the Foundry VTT for character sheets, maps, and the rest. My style as Loremaster is very character-driven and responsive: I do not have a set outcome for the campaign, and I prepare situations for your characters to respond to. I also rarely present situations with clear good/bad outcomes: in many cases what is important is what trade-offs your character is willing to risk or accept. I generally do not utilize dynamic maps or audio, nor do I do special character voices. Combat, when it happens, occurs as part of the narrative.

Safety
How Jordan Peacock creates a safe table
In our free session zero we will zero in on what elements we specifically want to include, what we want to exclude, and what we want to tread lightly around. Players and the GM have a right to change their mind, so our lines & veils is a living document that will be adjusted as necessary throughout the campaign. During sessions players will be encouraged to signal green (encouraging), yellow (warning) and red (stop) to indicate ongoing consent or to raise flags if there is an unexpected issue that requires discussion or adjustment.
