About the adventure
Ambersail is a sleepy, seaside town along the Dragonhead Peninsula, nestled between the coast and the Wealdath Woods. In this town, children have been disappearing, carried off by some malicious party. Seek out the taken, discover who is behind the kidnappings, and learn their purposes. This campaign will take players beyond the coastal town and into the world of the Forgotten Realms, exploring ancient ruins and thwarting the plans of groups tampering with powers beyond their control. Will you leave them to their own devices, or stop them from bringing chaos and death to the world?

About me
I'm a self-taught DM, learned how to play over COVID by reading the handbook and DMG. I've run smaller one-shots and a longer home campaign with family for the past year or so. I revel in goofy chaotic gameplay.

Creating your character
Players will create their characters during the first session. The intention is that the characters are somewhat local to Ambersail. Please come with an idea in mind, and we can work out some backstory details during the session. Stats will be determined with dice rolls, Rolling 4d6, taking the highest 3 numbers, and repeating 7 times, to allow players to customize their characters a bit more. Refer to the PHB, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and Mordenkainen's Monster's of the Multiverse for races, subclasses, and other character creation details. Some homebrew aspects may be allowed, with GM consultation and approval.

Preparing for the session
Please make sure you have Discord prepared for a audio/video call (video not required), and a link to Owlbear Rodeo will be provided. Owlbear is a free virtual tabletop, no download required.
What Brad brings to the table
I'm a firm lover of the Rule of Cool, within reason. I want to provide an experience that players can feel invested in. I utilize music, moderate combat, some challenging puzzle solving and mysteries. Players can expect a campaign that is personal to their characters, giving them a reason to venture out and take on the world.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew rules will be discussed at session 0, but largely depend on player comfort. Some homebrew feats, items and weapons will be available.

How Brad creates a safe table
Session 0 will discuss the basic rules and content, and establish player lines and veils. The lines and veils will be shared via direct message to avoid player discomfort. In the Session 0, a direct content warning will be given, as child abduction is the inciting event. The players will have the opportunity to submit stars and wishes to me via group chat, or directly to me for more sensitive issues.
