About the adventure
Drow are known to make raids on the surface dwellers of the forgotten realms, and take their prisoners back to the Underdark, either as slaves for the nobles of Menzoberranzan, or as sacrifices to the demon princes they worship. The players are victims of such a raid, and are being held in prison, awaiting either fate to befall them. Even if they escape, they will have to navigate the twisting and mazelike tunnels and caverns of the underdark, stumbling towards any exit, and fighting for any advantage they can get, as drow guards hunt down their escaped prisoners.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm a self-taught DM, learned how to play over COVID by reading the handbook and DMG. I've run smaller one-shots and a longer home campaign with family for the past year or so. I revel in goofy chaotic gameplay.

Creating your character
Players will need to build their characters at session 0, and are fairly open for concept. Anything within the PHB, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Mordenkainen's Monster's of the Multiverse are free to be used, and I am open for other ideas, given they are run past me first at session 0. The starting level is between 1-3, depending on player experience and desire for a challenge. It is preferred that all players start at the same level. Stats will be decided by dice rolling, using the 4d6 method outlined in the PHB, with the caveat of doing it 7 times for more player freedom.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have discord downloaded, and a groupchat/server will be created to run the games from. A link to Owlbear Rodeo will be provided, and no signup is required for it's usage.
What Brad brings to the table
I have the materials to make custom maps, encounters and experiences. I love using the rule of cool, encouraging players to be creative in both combat and roleplay. Expect puzzles, plot twists, and a fair bit of chaos as you explore and try and survive the Underdark. These games will have environmental puzzles, rich storytelling, and combat meant to be challenging, but not brutal.
Homebrew rules
Any homebrew rules will be discussed at session 0, but some examples may include more difficult death saves, the potion bonus action rule, and more. There is also the opportunity for homebrew feats and advancement if you can make a good case for it and it won't break the game.

How Brad creates a safe table
I set up the discord server beforehand, and players will send me their lines and veils privately before the session 0. I will then post those in a rules subsection of the discord server, keeping player triggers and lines anonymous. Session 0 includes character creation, expectation setting and general table rules. Aftercare can be done directly with me after a session, or through a stars and wishes subsection in the discord.
