About the adventure
Each of you receives a letter from Gundren Rockseeker, an old acquaintance (or employer), a dwarf prospector with a nose for gold and danger. The letter is brief but urgent: “I’ve found it. The Forge of Spells is real—and I’ve secured a map. Meet me in Phandalin. There’s coin in it for you, and more. Much more. Keep this quiet. Trust no one. - G.R.” But Gundren never makes it to Phandalin. Neither does the wagon of supplies he hired you to escort. Whispers of Black Spider, a shadowy figure searching for ancient power, reach your ears. And in the woods, travelers go missing—only their screams returning on the wind. As you arrive in the region, it becomes clear: someone—or something—is hunting for what Gundren found. And they’ll stop at nothing to ensure the lost mine stays buried... or is brought under their control.
