About the adventure

Evil Grows beneath the Earth Why should anyone travel the cracked cobblestones of the Old Road? The fortress that once cast its shadow across the road does so no longer - some whisper that the earth swallowed the fortress whole in an age long past. Four brave adventurers resolved to discover the truth and set off down the Old Road, but they never returned. "The Sunless Citadel" is a stand-alone adventures for the Dungeons & Dragons game. This carefully crafted adventure, designed to challenge 1st-level D&D heroes, follows a path to a mysterious dungeon where evil has taken root, and a terrible tree and its dark shepherd plot in darkness. This is a great starter game that will help develop your characters to continue play in other, higher level games. Great for beginners or more advanced players who don't wish to make up entire backstories for higher level characters.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Stats, Classes, and Background will be decided during session 0. This is so that we, as a group, can figure out party composition. Starting level is 1st. All options of creation present in my collection are acceptable. This includes the Player's Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Xanthar's Guide to Everything, and Sword Coast Adventure's Guide.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The only things necessary to play is Discord, a clear mic, and a free D&D Beyond account. I use discord for voice and text information and D&D Beyond for VTT and character sheets. When you join the game and get the link, please read the rules.

What WyldeSydeProduction@gmail.com brings to the table

I have and use D&D Beyond and a private Discord channel to run my games. My strength is my storytelling. As there is no perfect rule system, I homebrew things when necessary. I don't consider this Rule of Cool but is definitely not Rule as Written. If you have an idea and can present it to make sense, we talk about it. The game is more fun when you can use creativity. I use visual aids and sound to help set the mood when not distracting. It's easier to show rather than explain sometimes and these can be used to give more subtle hints in game.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action, I am negotiable on spell effects based on creativity and logic, etc. I have a special role I use sometimes when chaos has struck. I call it the team d100 roles. I will explain this one in session 0.

Safety

How WyldeSydeProduction@gmail.com creates a safe table

Players can expect an a fairly balanced game. I encourage RP, Story Building, and Cooperation to balance combat and strategy. I use Hero Points as a tool to do this. I am constantly looking for input as I want everyone to have fun. If there is content that is off limits to you, please discuss with me so that I can accommodate. Otherwise, most questionable content is a veil situation. Some things exist in the world, but we don't need to play that out so much. Open communication is key.
