About the adventure

!!! 5 out of 6 Seats are filled!!! In Olympia, you are no ordinary hero—you are a demigod born of Olympus, blessed by ichor and forged for glory. But unlike the legends before you, your fate is unwritten. The Moirai—those who weave the threads of destiny—cannot see your future. That makes you dangerous. Or divine. Set in a mythic version of ancient Greece where monsters roam the seas, oracles speak riddles that shape history, and the gods walk among mortals, this campaign blends epic heroism with divine intrigue. Your journey will span centuries, from the founding of Athens to the Trojan War, the Persian invasion, and the rise of a new world. Along the way, you will fight beasts of legend, contend with cunning mortals and jealous immortals, and decide what kind of legacy you will leave behind. Will you rise to become a champion of Olympus, an agent of chaos, or a god in your own right? Will you uphold the will of Zeus or defy it? The power to shape myth is in your hands—but be warned: in a world where songs are sung of heroes, not all who seek fame survive the tale. Olympia is a roleplay-forward, high-drama campaign perfect for players who love mythic storytelling, character-driven arcs, and rewriting history with their bare hands. Whether you're a fan of Clash of the Titans, Hades, or The Iliad, this is your chance to step into legend.

About me

I've been DMing 5e D&D more than 4 times a week for nearly 5 years now and have run everything from one shots to long term campaigns, from the pre-made adventures of WotC to homebrew campaigns entirely of my own design! Each game is played weekly with a maximum of 6 players to a table. We typically run the campaigns from level 1 - 20. All games are run on Zoom, Talespire, DnD Beyond and sometimes Roll20 for handouts. Each game is a full 4 hours and a ton of fun. For any further information feel free to direct message me or attend a (free) session 0 to see if this is the table for you. I hope to hear from you :)

Character creation

Creating your character

All PC's will play a custom race of Demi Gods. But that race is very diverse in appearance (Humans, Elves, Minotaurs, ect...). I am open to 2024 and 2014 built characters (all feats, spells, and class choices must be one or the either). There is an expectation there character will be built to fit the themes of the game. I will be happy to help with any backstory or mechanical creation needs and will be happy to expand on them in session 0 :) First Session is Free!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

This is a Voice/Video game so a mic and camera is required. Other than that make sure your computer is capable of running zoom and the rest will be figured out during session 0. No other preparation required.

What Ryan brings to the table

Physical and Digital Dice are both welcome. Other than that, all you will need is a mic, camera, and computer to run the game on. We use Zoom, Roll20 (for maps and visuals), Dnd Beyond (you will have full access to all adventure and source books through content share), and Talespire (a 3D tabletop software we use through Zoom screenshare, no purchase or prior experience with the software is necessary). Everyone will be entitled to one free Hero Forge mini per character that I will import into the Talespire experience so you can really see your character come to life! I run my games with music, visuals, intense combats, voices, commitment to roleplay, a strong attention to the rules as written and fun with the rule of cool when appropriate. Combat can be intense but rewarding. Come out to a free session 0 to chat with me about the game and I can more thoroughly explain my GM style, the game, expectations, and answer any questions you may have :)

Homebrew rules

Feats and ASIs! -Take both the Ability score increases AND a feat at levels that normally grant one or the other (such as level 4). But you can take no more or less than 2 Ability Score Increases, regardless if that is attached to the feat you took or not. Restricted or Circumstantial Feats - You can only take a feat if it makes narrative sense for your character to be able to take it. However, if there is a feat you really want, I am more than happy to create a narrative opportunity to help explain where your character is getting that feat before the level up happens. Grappling - If you have someone grappled, you and your allies have advantage on attack rolls against that enemy Matt Mercer's "Fading Spirits" and "Harrowing Return". To create stakes to dying, resurrection becomes a party ritual and coming back from the dead has consequences. Passive Skills - Your passive skills are only considered “active” when you are doing an activity that happens over a long time and isn’t being directed at a single target. Critical Success - We use the “Perfect Rolls” rules for crits. Same as always, a nat 20 guarantees an attack roll. What is different is that instead of simply doubling all your damage dice like normal, you take the maximum possible roll on the second set of dice. For example: Let’s say your normal damage is 1d8+2. If you roll a Nat 20 you take the full damage on your d8 then roll the dice as normal (while leaving the modifier as normal). So your crit damage would be 1d8+10. Critical Fail - When you roll a Nat-1 on an attack roll you may friendly fire if an ally is reasonably near your line of fire or within reach of your melee attack. You must roll to confirm against your ally’s Armor Class before dealing damage on a friendly fire

Safety

How Ryan creates a safe table

I will hold a free session 0 for a player before they are officially admitted into the game where will officially review the table rules, the adventure content, and all questions can be answered. We will review conduct and ethics at the table as well as in game topics, character creation and story content to ensure all parties are interested and comfortable with the game they are entering into. I have an open door policy if anyone ever has any discomfort with the game, myself, or other players that will remain anonymous and safe between me and the player. I will always do everything I can to respect the players wishes while trying to come to a respectful and discreet resolution to any problems that may arise.
