About the adventure
The seas are restless, and strange storms swirl around Stormwreck Isle. You’ll explore shipwrecks, confront dangerous foes, and uncover the truth about the island’s past. This game will have a good mix of roleplay, exploration and combat, as well as character development and an option to continue into a different campaign with the same characters. My games will be on Foundry and Discord, with custom character counters created for each player, a custom soundboard and game specific music.

About me
Hello :) I'm Laur, I run official and homebrew campaigns ranging from short term 10 session games to long term 3+ years games. I've been DMing D&D 5e for 7 years and my games tend to focus on High Fantasy or Horror, but I'm hoping to expand into steampunk settings. I have multiple long term campaigns currently ongoing and a large number of continuous, long term players. I am comfortable running games for allexperiences, from completely new to veteran players.

Creating your character
You’ll create your character before Session 1, but we’ll begin with a Session Zero to go over everyone’s choices, answer questions, and make sure the party fits well together. Starting Level: Level 1 Ability Scores: Standard Array or Point Buy (your choice) Allowed Sources: Player’s Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, and other official Wizards of the Coast 5e books from 2014 rules No homebrew, no Unearthed Arcana, no third-party material Platform: Characters will be managed in Foundry VTT/DnD Beyond, with digital sheets set up for ease of play. You can create a character in D&D Beyond for access to all your materials and will be exported to Foundry. If you’re new to D&D or character building, I’ll be available before Session Zero to help you through the process, so you’ll never feel lost.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before joining the game, please complete the following steps: Join Discord: Join our game Discord server for scheduling, announcements, and chat with the group. Character Creation: Create your character beforehand using official 2014 D&D 5e material. Session Zero will let you review characters, ask questions, and finalize party composition. Familiarize Yourself: Get comfortable with your character sheet so the first session runs smoothly.
What DM Laur brings to the table
As your DM, I aim to make the game immersive, exciting, and fun. You can expect: I will be using a combination of vivid descriptions, custom sound board and maps. Battles are difficult but rewarding. Creativity is rewarded with treasure and inspiration coins. I embrace the Rule of Cool when it fits, so clever, creative actions by players can shine, but the world still responds realistically to your choices. I create a safe space for new players to explore the game and mechanics, helping newer players through this campaign
Homebrew rules
**WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH GROUP BEFORE THE GAME TO DECIDE IF WE WILL BE USING THESE** 1) Drinking a healing potion costs 1 bonus action, rather than 1 action 2) if you roll a 1 on healing (magical healing, level up hp etc), you can reroll the 1. 3) The DM will roll Death Saving Throws in secret and will only reveal the results if the character dies or becomes stable 4) If you go down in combat, you will need to make a CON saving throw. You will get either a minor or major injury depending on your roll. Nothing game breaking, just some intensity. 5) If you score a crit with a NAT 20 ONLY, instead of doubling dice or damage, you will roll the normal amount of dice, add your modifiers, and instead of rolling a second dice, you can add max damage. For example, if you roll nat 20, and your damage dice is 1d8 + 3, you will do [roll 1d8] + 3 + 8. 6) A nat 20 roll on initiative will mean you get advantage on your first attack roll.

How DM Laur creates a safe table
Before the game begins, I’ll run a Session 0 to go over the world, mechanics, and expectations. We’ll discuss Lines and Veils, so you can set hard limits (Lines) and softer boundaries (Veils) for content you don’t want to encounter. I also use X, N, & O signals digitally via Discord chat or direct message to pause, slow, or skip content if anything becomes uncomfortable. After each session, I offer aftercare, including debriefing and a chance to discuss any difficult moments, ensuring everyone leaves the table feeling safe and supported.
