About the adventure
Step ashore on the Island of Holy Peace, a mountainous and perilous land adrift in the heart of the Mediterranean. Here, farmers, pirates, soldiers, and dreamers share uneasy peace beneath the shadow of marble ruins and wild gods. You didn’t come here by choice—your ship was lost to the storm, your crew scattered—but survival is only the beginning. Will you find a way to repair your vessel and return to Rome? Or will the island’s mysteries, its people, and its forgotten divinities bind you to its shores forever? This campaign unfolds in a West Marches–style structure: each session is a standalone one-shot, lasting about 2½ to 3 hours, set within the same living world. If you play often, you’ll see stories connect, NPCs return, and friendships deepen—like chapters in a shared epic, or episodes of an ancient tale retold around the fire. New players can join at any time without feeling lost, while returning adventurers shape the ongoing saga of the island. The world draws inspiration from the Roman Republic and Ancient Greece, blending mythic history with sword-and-sandal fantasy. Think The Odyssey meets Pirates of the Caribbean, where nymphs haunt springs once sacred to forgotten gods, and the legions’ banners fade against the untamed wilds. Names echo in Latin and Greek—Petrus Demolitor, Melissa Allangelos, Gaius of Rhodes—each hero carving a story that could pass into legend. You’ll explore, bargain, fight, and uncover truths lost to time. Adventure, intrigue, and danger await on the Island of Holy Peace. Will you escape its shores—or will its beauty and peril capture your heart? The setting and campaign frame “Insula Sacrae Pacis” are original creations by Edoardo Orta, inspired by Roman and Hellenic myth. The session 0 will be about your character and connection and will start then playing loosely from the inciting incident of the campaign frame. About me
🇬🇧 English Hello! I’m Edoardo, a software developer by day and a Game Master/TTRPG enthusiast by night. I’m currently running two campaigns: a D&D 5e game set in a homebrew world inspired by Classical Greece and Theros, and a high fantasy adventure with the Daggerheart system. Over the years I’ve also run many one-shots in a wide range of settings—historical, steampunk, Irish folklore, high fantasy, Lord of the Rings-inspired, and more. I love taking inspiration from films and books to add unexpected twists, and you might even discover some fun easter eggs hidden in my sessions! 🇮🇹 Italiano Ciao!

Creating your character
We will create the characters during session 0, but make yourself an idea before so that we can come together. You can use all the official materials and the one in the void. The world I create is an alternative roman empire past where all the races could live together, the main languages are Greek and Latin, therefore you will be named as Petrus Demolitor or Melissa Diangelos... create your one! The campaign begins aboard a merchant ship that has just set sail from Brundisium, Italy, bound for Byzantium—two of the empire’s greatest trade cities. Why are you on this vessel? Are you a merchant or a hired guard? A pilgrim or a runaway? Perhaps Byzantium is just one step in your longer journey. The choice is yours, and your backstory will shape how the adventure begins.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll play on discord, I'll share my screen if necessary showing maps to play around. You can have your player character either on paper or on demiplane or any VTT of your choice.
What Edoardo brings to the table
I bring NPCs to life by giving them distinct voices, personalities, and clear motivations. They aren’t just quest givers—they have their own wants and needs, which makes roleplay feel vibrant and meaningful. Combat at my table is harsh and dangerous, but not always the only solution. You can fight your way through a problem, but you might also win through clever dialogue, diplomacy, or pure roleplay ingenuity. When rules questions come up, we’ll stick to Rules as Written to keep the game fair and consistent. But if you have a brilliant, cinematic idea—the kind that makes everyone at the table smile—I’ll lean into the Rule of Cool and make it happen.
