About me
Hi my name is Rachel. I have been DMing for six years. D&D is my hyperfixation and I wouldn't have it any other way. Although my bank account struggles to handle all the independent content creators and Kickstarters I support. So that's why I'm here. Why not let my D&D passion pay for my D&D addiction. That's healthy right. In all seriousness, I'm not a module DM. I have created an open sandbox world where anything goes. I like to let my players lead the game. I have overarching storylines that will tie together narratives and provide context for players to work from.

Creating your character
The First session will be a session Zero in order to get charcater sheets made. If players wish to use Races or Classes from outside sources they will need to provide access to a copy that I can review to ensure that the character build work.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
For session zero they will be provided with a discord link to connect them for the audio and a Roll20 link for any battle maps.
What Rachel brings to the table
I will do my best to use voices to distinguish characters. I don't mind if other players want ambient music for the game but I will not be using any for it interrupts my creative flow. So if you wish to add a soundboard to discord go ahead just know I will have that channel muted for me. I have lots of homebrew rules which give things like inspiration a bit more range and also Rule of Cool if you want to pull off something awesome. I have oodles of third party content so be prepared for books on herbalism, detailed rules for building and construction, monsters galore and the ability to go shopping at the drop of a hat. As character sheets will likely be built in roll20 you have full access to all of my Kobold press content including access to extended spell lists and class lists. I love handing out magic items and have books full of them. I tend to find things that are useful in unique ways giving characters a chance to have a moment to shine. Character moments are what I live for so if you just want to hack and slash this isn't the campaign for you. But if you like collection creatures and NPCs like pokemon you've come to the right table.
Homebrew rules
Inspiration: You can use it to bolster a roll or choose to reroll it entirely taking the new number Crit success/Fail: Total damage doubled Spontaneous Vicious Mockery: Occasionally if a burn is absolute fire you may accidentally provoke a wild magic surge that actually deals someone psychic damage Exhaustion: Levels 5 incurs short term madness.

How Rachel creates a safe table
During session zero each player will be given an RPG checklist. You can't start playing until it is done. It gives me insight into peoples boundaries if you have any phobias please put them on there. I don't want to run the party through a pit of spiders only to find someone is arachnophobic. After each session we will do stars and wishes. Its a quick way of saying what you liked and what you would like to see more of. It gives me feedback and allows you to also tell the other players what moments they had that you thought were awesome. Also at any point during a game you can ask for a timeout, whether that be for a potty break, snack break or content break and I will address it immediately. If its a content thing stuff can be altered pretty quickly. Also there is to be no PVP unless both parties consent and even then that is within my discression. There will be no detailed sexual content any romantic interludes will be fade to black. As the world is an Open Sandbox there is of course the chance to run into content that people may find triggering. Things are not often detailed simply mentioned in passing. If the group collectively decides they wish to avoid certain topics we will determine that in session zero and the game will go from there.
