About the adventure
Glad you're looking at my Mythic Odesseys of Theros campaign. In this game you'll play your character in an ancient greek setting with gods that try to influence the world and their power by using their champions to fulfill their goals. You'll set on adventures where you will see and get to know the worlds, solve legendary puzzles, slay mythic creatures and win favor and help your own gods. If you're a new player who wants to join a campaign and learn the system or an experienced player who wants to experience epic fights, roleplay and become legends similar to the heroes in the Odyssey, Percy and the Argonauts, Heracles and Orpheus, this is your place!

Creating your character
D&D Beyond for character creation. We will start at level 4, with Piety at 1 for your own chosen god. How this works, will be shown in the discord. All races that you can get on D&D Beyond are of course available. There are no bans, but if we see that something breaks the game, there can always be a discussion on how to balance it, so it is also fun for your other teammates! Everyone also starts with one uncommon item! Finally, everyone starts off with a supernatural gift! It is a special benefit which will make the campaign even more fun and your characters even better! More information on that in the discord too!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will use Roll20 to play our characters and with an extension you can roll directly from D&DBeyond straight in to your Roll20! Next to it, we have a Discord channel where we will use the voice channels to talk during our sessions!
What Joshua brings to the table
I give every player everything they need to play: clear how-to guides if necessary, house rules, and a concise world primer so you can jump in confidently. I help you interact with the world in meaningful ways, creative ideas are welcome and rewarded, not shut down. I’m a big fan of the Rule of Cool. If it’s awesome and makes narrative sense, I’ll find a way to make it happen. I use ambient music and soundscapes to set the tone. I do character voices to distinguish NPCs, fun and varied, although I’m not a voice actor. Expect epic, tactical combat with interesting terrain, hazards, and enemies that have tools beyond “hit points and a sword.” I encourage dynamic maneuvers, team combos, and cinematic finishers, flashy endings are very on-brand. I keep rules clear and fair: Rule of Cool first; Rules-as-Written when balance or clarity matters. I’ll explain rulings quickly so the game stays fast.

Drinking a potion is a bonus action and we have a modified critical hit system to make it more fun!

How Joshua creates a safe table
I will go over all safety tools in session 0. But I work with feedback forms, a possibility to fade to black at any given moment.
