About the adventure
This is an introductory adventure to the Draw Steel system, taking place in a medieval fantasy world with goblins, wizards, dragons and demons where you might be a weapon-wielding Tactician, a priestly Conduit, a stealthy Shadow or a magical Elemenalist. The game will have a mix of roleplaying and combat, where tense negotiations may lead to great rewards or deadly foes, and where combat requires teamwork and tactics. A big focus in the game is player agency. Both in terms of how you wish to solve a problem you face in game, but also which problems you choose to solve in the first place. As heroes, you will face evils that torment a village, and perhaps, if you succeed in defeating it, great evils lie beyond. Will you take on the mantle of a hero to save those who need you in a time of strife? Will you be the change a world in turmoil need?

About me
I have played D&D for many years, but as MCDM's new system Draw Steel released, I immersed myself in it, and am running several campaigns in the system, finding it a fantastic system to scratch the roleplaying itch.

Preparing for the session
Communication will happen on Discord, and the game will be played on Foundry, though you do not need an account on Foundry.
What Sami brings to the table
I like using character voices, and do my best to roleplay NPCs realistically. I use ambient music in and outside of combat, and combat will be played on tactical maps with walls, doors and lighting effects to further create ambiance, and NPCs will have unique tokens. Draw Steel allows for many options to create cool moments, but I am always open to ideas that might bend the rules within reason.

How Sami creates a safe table
During session zero we will agree on what topics are off-limits, and ensure everyone is on the same page in regards to things like metagaming, spot-light hogging and main character syndrome. Players are always free to privately tell me about problems they are having in the game. I do my best to ensure everyone has a fun time at the table.
