About the adventure
Behind the lightning barriers that hold the hosts and demons of the ghostlands at bay (mostly) a city bustles with life. Gangs of criminals vie for power and influence. Life is harsh and cheap, and supernatural forces are an ever-present risk, be they ghosts, demons or worse. Things go bump in the night here, and unfortunately it's always night. In Blades in the Dark create a gang of criminals and undertake daring scores to work your way up from two-bit dirtbags to a powerful criminal empire. Progress both your characters and the gang in Blades unique Downtime/planning > Score cadence. In the Downtime & planning stage you'll work on your, characters, scout jobs & roleplay. Then in the Score phase you'll dive right into the action (using flashbacks to aid you) to pull off daring capers.

About me
Hi! I'm Nate. I'm a long time GM. I've got experience running D&D 5ed and Blades in the Dark games for the last several years. I love running both pre-made campaigns and my own homebrew setting games. I pride myself on providing good deep interconnected stories with a good mix of roleplay and adventure.

Creating your character
Player and Gang creation is simple with the help of Roll 20! You can either come with a pre-built new character, or we can build it together in the first session where we will also build your gang together and introduce the setting.
I encourage strong player agency in my games and a deep interconnected ever hanging world. My games tend to be more roleplay heavy but with some challenging combat. Blades worlds really well on this front as there is far less combat micro-management. It's more about the story and the players characters using creative thinking to overcome obstacles. If that sounds good to you this may be just the table for you. My table is a LGBTQI+ friendly environment. No discrimination will be acceptable. It's a safe place.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need both a discord and Roll 20 account as these will both be used to play the game. VoiceChat(mandatory)/video(optional) will be done via Discord (I will run a server for the campaign). Maps/Chatacter&gang sheets/handouts will be done on Roll 20.
What Nathaniel brings to the table
I bring along a good selection of NPC voices and personalities for you to interact with! I'm also big on world building and pride myself on giving you an ever evolving world to interact with, that adapts to you as players. I love for my players to feel they have a lasting impact on the world's I bring along. I bring some spookums, and I bring moments of comedy too so it's not all doom and gloom.
Homebrew rules
Blades has a lot of "loose" rules, and I run with that. If you can make a good argument for something, and it's gonna be cool, I'll try and make it happen (well if the dice let it).

Safety
How Nathaniel creates a safe table
We will discuss lines and veils in the session 0. Duskvol is a spooky place so there will be horror, there will be gore, drug use, and there will be a lot of morally grey actions. That said if you have any phobias or lines these will be protected. We'll discuss this all in our session 0, and you safety is my top priority. Any sexual encounters will be veiled and faded to black. If you start to feel uncomfortable with the content at any point let me know. We will discuss and adjust using the Luxton Technique framework.
