Grim Hollow; The Fate of Etharis (2024 rules)

About the adventure

The world of Etharis is one of dark fantasy. One where monsters rule over provinces, and people constantly fight eachother for survival. Hope may look just as gruesome as the threat itself. Darkness rules over the lands of Etharis, it just takes a different shape depending on where you go. In this open-world game you will be able to explore three of the five main regions organically and at your own pace; The clashing governments of the Ostoyan Empire, one relying on the power of magic, the other fueled by undeath. The volitile wilds of the Valikan, over-run by savages, lycanthropes, and elementals alike. And the aberrant-infested lands of the Burach Empire, a land that was once the heart of Etharis, now a hollow shell of itself, mutating both within and without. Each region has quests that will allow you to shape the different regions futures, as well as things to find while exploring around the region. It could be a friendly rare merchant, a run-in with one of the major factions, or anything in between! This open-world game will go from level 1 to level 12. Each country has its combat designed for a certain tier of play, but if you're brave enough, there is nothing stopping you from going to a different country at any point. Creative play is always rewarded at my table however, especially when it comes to roleplay! This game has high levels of both roleplay and combat. This is a remake of my 2014 Grim Hollow world built from the ground up using 2024 D&D rules and the new 2025 Grim Hollow Content. This includes new rules, feats, spells, subclasses, backgrounds, races, weapons, and even monsterous transformations! I have taken inspiration from the exploration and world-building aspects of both Bauldurs Gate 3 and Elden ring to redesign my world from the ground up, making every aspect more coherent, enjoyable, and rewarding.
