About the adventure
Welcome to Vogst! A land of Primordials and Gods. Some quick hitters here up front: -Session Zero is free after you sign up! -I am invested in your story and I'm excited to help you tell it. -We are universally inclusive here 🏳️🌈 -D&D 2024 -Players must be 18+ -My games run about 70/30 roleplay to combat. -All character races are welcome. -I'll be using a wide range of character voices. -I am a professional and you will be treated with maximum respect. -There will be sound effects and music provided by myself for almost every session. -Microphone and Discord! -The game will have a healthy mix of narrative choices, character downtime, and sandbox elements. This is Vogst! (https://inkarnate.com/m/ZLdnvL) This will be a long term campaign centered around airships and sky pirates. You'll start as members of a Sky Pirate band led by a famous ship captain known as Van Zant. His legendary capital ship is known as the Skynyrd, and his pirates are known as Skydancers. The Skynyrd is on course for the raging squall, an unnaturally colossal storm that ravages the world of Vogst. This storm brings more than just nature's wrath when it passes over the lands of Vogst. It brings the undead, both the corpses of those it crushed and the bones of those who have been long laid to rest. This slow moving storm has toppled kingdoms in its wake. It's been a 99 years since it was last seen near the lands of the Quartzstar Gulf, but as inevitable as time itself, the stormy leviathan looms on the horizon once more. Stories of the storm have made their way through Vogst for centuries. Rumors tell that in the eye of the storm flies the primordial Borug Cha, a giant flying whale that also carries the city of Eberus on its back. This city, also known as the city of death is a reminder of the deadly sin committed by their people. They worshiped a primordial. Now cursed to travel the world, Borug Cha spreads death in its wake. This time is different. We are no longer prey to the storm. We have ships built to withstand the raging winds and pelting rain. Ships built to fly. Ships made of blood, wood, steel, and mana. Ships that will rise above the storm. This time we take the fight to the Primordial. This time we raid the lost city of Eberus. This time we end the squall.

About me
Hello! My name is Cory and I am a Mailman from Baltimore! As a professional GM, my job is to give you the most engaging, connected, and immersive game possible. I promise every session you book will be professional and detailed. The effort I've put into these campaigns is worth the cost. I'm a board member in Baltimore for BMORE Community Theatre. We're a non-profit organization that aims to bring theatre to everyone of all ages here in the East side of Baltimore. In the summer of 2026 well be holding a summer camp for kids ages 8-16 as an introduction into theatre where I'll be helping to give improv classes and teaching people about how fun and connective roleplaying can be! I've been DMing for my friends since early college. (2015-ish) We all knew we'd like to try playing after one of my friends bought the starter set and after a bit of trepidation from the group I ended up taking the mantle as GM.... Forever GM unfortunately/fortunately. Since then my groups have come and gone as time and jobs pulled us apart, but fun times and unforgettable memories were made with those friends, who became even more dear to me through our connection in D&D. I have two very loving black cats named Prismo and Marceline that love to get in my face while I DM online. So you'll probably get to meet them at some point when I have my camera on for a session. I also have an adorable cocker spaniel named Kiki!

Creating your character
Session Zero means the world to me. I want to be involved when making your character. I offer a free independent session privately with me before we start playing, so we can connect your character into my world. It helps build investment and connection, which I think makes for the best games. I love backstory and will take as much as you can give me after we talked about setting and location! The first and most important thing for anyone to know about my table is that I am running a collaborative game! I mean collaborative in every sense of the word. I am on the same side as the players. The goal when playing with me at my table is to tell the most interesting story possible with every player as co-authors. I promise you that I will try my hardest to make whatever crazy ideas you come up with happen in my world within the rules. I want a table that's never afraid to speak up because they know that when they do, they'll be heard and their ideas will be respected. You will be starting at level 3. Feel free to create a character in whatever character creator you'd like, as long as it can be exported and sent to me as a PDF or JSON. In Session Zero, we will be rolling for stats! 4D6 take the highest 3. You'll be allowed to re-roll once after completing your 6 stats, but you'll sacrifice those 6 rolls and will accept the next set of roll results.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord Foundry VTT (I will guide you through everything involved with this) And it's for vibes and music more than tactical combat Backstory after our first character meeting. Spend me a PDF or JSON copy of your character sheet.
What DM Corn brings to the table
My style of GMing has changed over the years. Back in college, it was a highly tactical game with long dungeon crawls, stat blocks, traps, treasure, and discovery. Now I DM for multiple theatre teachers who are much more into roleplay than heavy dungeon crawls, and it's been an absolute blast. Taking the best of both of these worlds, I'd say my style has become more roleplay heavy with a big emphasis on flowing and purposeful combat. My biggest strength as a DM, according to my players, is building compelling narratives with well-balanced tension and meaningful encounters. My personal favorite part about being a DM is narrating character actions. To get the best results, I'll help take what is unique about your character and incorporate it into my world! The more fleshed-out we can make the character, the more they will feel alive when they swing their sword, or cast arcane spells. I want you to experience what your character feels, and to know they aren't just a stat block banging their sword against an enemy's HP.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Death Saves get more difficult the more often you go down in one fight. Upon request we can work together to make magic items/weapons that are completely homebrewed No spells are banned until proven to be a problem in the game. Please don't abuse this.

How DM Corn creates a safe table
Session Zero will establish all safety tools listed below. We will be establishing lines and veils that will be listed in a Discord channel for both reference in the future and to add on in case you've forgotten something. I have an open door policy. Feel free to communicate anything that's bothering you and I'll be happy to accommodate. That includes taking breaks whenever you feel uncomfortable, or if you feel the need to resolve issues at the table then and there. X,N,O cards can be messaged to me by DM, or held up on camera for immediate effect. There will be 20 minute breaks in longer sessions. There will also be a quick check in after every session to make sure everyone is feeling grounded and secure with the game. Feel free to talk about how the game affected you. You can vent to either myself privately, or with friends at the table.
