About the adventure
"Nestled on the northern Sword Coast, between Neverwinter Wood and the Sword Mountains, is the town of Phandalin. Centuries ago, Phandalin was a thriving settlement with deep ties to its neighboring communities. But then bandits overran the town, and Phandalin lay abandoned for centuries. Only in the past few years have settlers built a new village on the ruins of the old. These townsfolk hope to grow Phandalin through hard work, camaraderie, and the shared purpose of building a lasting home. Threatening their efforts and their survival are bandits, brigands, and monsters." This is where you come in. You are a newly, self-described adventurer, ready for exciting action. A good friend, the dwarf Gundren Rockseeker, has given you your first taste of the adventuring life by tasking you with an simple escort mission. He has charged you with taking a wagon filled with merchandise to the outlying mining settlement of Phandalin. Sounds like a an easy job right? Well, little do you know that your life is about be turned upside down, and you'll soon find yourself involved in rescue missions, dungeon diving, and confronting otherworldly beings. About me
I've been a GM for six years now. I've done many campaigns, weaving complex official D&D storylines together with my own bit of personal flair. I've also done a number of one shots and one page dungeons. These last ones can be the most fun as they often differ dramatically and put players in some very unusual situations. I'm available for hire for a group that wants to run the Curse of Strahd Campaign, Rise of Tiamat, Phandelver and Below, and many more. For sessions, I primarily use a mix of theater of the mind and I use tabletop simulator for visuals to create some elaborate 3d dungeons and then I stream the feed to a zoom channel where players make decisions for their characters and interact.

Creating your character
The very first session of this campaign will be a free zero session where we will create characters, develop backstories, and do a little light roleplaying to get into the spirit of the game. This campaign is for new and experienced players and will use the 2024 Player's handbook and rules. Use of legacy races, classes, etc, allowed with DM approval. Players that join after the zero session will need to work with the DM to create a character.

What Alex Cloud brings to the table
This campaign combines theater of the mind with visual content using tabletop simulator (you do not need to own Tabletop Simulator), and I provide appropriate atmosphere with storytelling and voices.

How Alex Cloud creates a safe table
This game will feature a free session 0 where we will create characters, go over the rules of DND for new players, and potentially begin the campaign. This campaign will have some horror themes that might be a bit distrubing. However, I use a bit of levity though to keep things from getting too intense. Even so, if you have a bit of difficulty with any of the listed content warnings, you may not want to get involved in this campaign.
