About the adventure

🦇 The setting of 'Curse of Strahd' is one that invites you along a story that twists and turns, where everything is not as it seems. It's a beautifully gothic landscape with it's lord, Count Strahd, as the driving point for this horror. 🦇 Now, to be clear, this game is a "Horror" game. That means it tends to work best when the players give in to the setting and allow themselves to feel the fear of the moment and the tension of the story. 🦇 That being said, while all manner of terrifying creature can be found within the pages, that does not allow us as people to be nasty to each other. Please be kind and respectful to your fellow players at all times! 🦇 I accept all peoples who want to play! I would like people who have never played before but that is not a deal ender. I am most confident in the tweaks I have made to the game to keep it fresh and exciting for returning players!

About me

Hey there, potential new friends! My name is Logan, and I'll be your DM/GM throughout any of the games I host. I prioritize fun and safety for all my players. I believe Tabletops are a cooperative experience and seek to make sure we all have fun and create long lasting memories from the games we play. All I ask for is respect and dedication to the cause and you'll receive the same. With that being said, let's go make some memories!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be standard as per the book and the system. I will be available to help and custom fit any character you make in to the game itself! Of course, Session 0 is free! I will personally work with each player to make sure their characters fit in to the story and match the tone of the game itself so they never feel out of place or unwanted! This is a personal add on here: Do NOT share your character concepts or builds with any of the other players. I have run this game many times and all my players have confessed that not knowing what everyone was playing really heightened the experience! Trust that you will have a fitting team group regardless. The story of the characters counts, for me, way more than the mechanics.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be having the voice on Discord and the game will be hosted on Roll20.

What Logan brings to the table

I do my best, I am not perfect, to bring the best I can to my players. I do what I can for voices for different characters to give them life. Music is also something I've worked to build for the themes of the game. Combat is intense, yes, but equally as rewarding as you experience more and more. Much likes how the Souls games are. Rough at the start, then you begin learning which fights to take and which to avoid. I tend to stick to Rule of Cool. I prefer my players to feel like they impact the world and enhance it with their actions. I find that Rule of Cool helps with that. Something more personal to me is my Motto: I am telling a story -with- my players, not to them. I offer as much chance as I can to give the reins over and let the players decide how to proceed and what actions to take!

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action. I am also open to ideas/suggestions that the group feels is good to add!

Safety

How Logan creates a safe table

I will be going over a lot of this in Session 0, but the general gist for the peeps here is this: Curse of Strahd welcomes all kinds of peoples as characters. From the best and brightest to the darkest and evil. That is fine and even encouraged. Don't be scared to bring a character who is down on their luck. That being said, do not be a monster to your own team. If it's talked about before hand, that's one thing. If anyone is uncomfortable with any topics or any themes, please let me know right away so I can change things around and make sure you are safe and comfortable in the game. It's horror, yes, but this is an escape from reality. Let's do our best to keep it fun and exciting while exploring what is acceptable and engaging!
