How Vinnie creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are my top priorities. I create a welcoming space for all players, especially those new to tabletop roleplaying. Everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace, explore their characters, and ask questions without pressure or judgment. In Session 0, we discuss these boundaries, as well as game expectations, character creation, and how mechanics work. I will also explain my approach to conflict resolution, communication, and inclusive storytelling. Players are encouraged to compete the Google questionnaire “Vibe Check” before Session 0 so we may draw up our lines and veils. During sessions, I use safety tools like X, N, and O signals. These can be digital messages, held up on video, or messaged privately—whatever is most comfortable for the player. I also pause the game whenever a player needs clarification or space, and I provide aftercare by checking in after intense scenes or emotional moments to ensure everyone feels supported. My goal is to foster a fun, safe, and engaging experience where players can focus on storytelling, character growth, and collaboration, without fear or discomfort.
