About the adventure
🔴This is the english play by post campaign, text me if you're looking for the live campaign or the french campaign. Depending on the number of players, their level of activity and choices in game, we can have one or several groups or individuals evolving in the same universe, with possible direct and indirect interactions. 📜It's hard to live in peace in Myntalor, with no rule over the many self-serving folks, other than whimsical gods and their crazy followers, conspiring guilds and megalomaniac wizards constantly scheming for power over lost artifacts, ancient prophecies and farfetched evil plans. Your journey starts a century after the Vhlorx wars, when a new goddess descended to rebuke Myntalor's people for perverting their magic to violence. The legend says Vhlorx drained major magics into a few gems given to the leaders of the time, promising it would be freed again if they united their powers for common good. Hope was short though as folks were no better than before at conciliation, and negotiations quickly turned to a brutal bloodbath causing a new era of chaos, and the loss of most gems… Make your way through all sorts of plots, antagonists, dungeons, mysteries, conflicts and schemes, try to find the gems, and learn to use them for common good and the accomplishment of the prophecy - or for your own interests… ⚔️You'll love this if you: Enjoy a rich game open to any choice, fun RP and challenging fights Prefer spontaneous play and creativity over too many rules Can't find a system fitting your character idea This is easy to join and enjoy for beginners, and can serve as an introduction to DnD basics. If you're a DnD veteran though you'll find some differences, mostly the fact characters’ and creatures’ HP remain realistically consistent throughout the game, while they get more opportunities at growing in various ways. Beyond improving their core skills, characters can learn new abilities from life experiences, acting on personal quests, finding a gem (each with unique magic), meet with deities, cults, guilds, lost civilizations or other inspiring events... 🧙♀️Easiest is characters going on their first adventure but we can always balance a more experienced persona if that's who you like, and you can reach various degrees of resolution in only tens or up to hundreds of sessions depending on your choices, easy to join and leave mid-campaign if you're taken by other adventures or want to change character.

Creating your character
🧙♀️You can text me about characters whenever or discuss it once you join the discord. We can create it on DnD Beyond, roll20 or just a shared file/paper as you prefer. Easiest would be characters going on their first adventure but we can always balance a more experienced persona if that's who you like. You don’t have to worry about no rule if you feel creative, I’m open to any species, gameplay and specificities. Whether you have a specific character idea or need help finding one, I'm here to make it work. No idea yet? I can suggest concepts or provide premade characters to get you started. Rough concept? Tell me what appeals to you and we'll flesh it out into something fun and whole. Ready to go? Tell me about it and we'll create a practical character sheet together that fits your vision. 📙Or you can refer to DnD first level character creation (point buy, any source) if that’s a useful guideline to you, and if DnD doesn't fit something you want we'll adapt, mix or create any feats, skills, actions, spells etc needed. Is your character a smart and agile spearfighter ? No problem using sneak attack with a spear under right circumstances. Are you a paladin of the goddess of justice and BBQ ? We can imagine a temporary bonus for people eating a good BBQ and extra power from your goddess to your hand when fighting injustice. Is your character’s folk used to interact with people, the dead, places and stuff’s souls ? Let’s make up a few spells to fit the uses you’d like to make of that. 🌱Your characters will grow according to what they experience, getting better at what they do, inspired by new things they discover or learning new things you want to train for. This is similar to DnD’s abilities score improvements, new feats, proficiencies, masteries etc but doesn’t have to be preruled and can be adapted to events instead. Unlike DnD though there will rarely be a reason for gaining a lot of HP, unless you really practiced taking hits that day. That doesn't mean you'll die too easily, opponents don’t unrealistically scale either so it’ll remain balanced. ☠️We can discuss your take on character death and decide it together. I usually feel it’s more immersive and fun if the risk is real, but I keep it playable and I don't mind avoiding it altogether if you tell me you're not comfortable with that. Otherwise some magics might have a way to bring you back but not always without consequences, and joining with a new character is always possible.

Homebrew rules
🧙♀️Depending on your wishes, characters can be entirely homebrew or based on DnD 1st level with possibility of homebrew mixes, fixes or additions. 🌱Character growth can also be inspired by DnD levelling but most likely adapted or completed to fit with the character's experiences, discoveries, training etc actually explaining the corresponding improvement. Compared to DnD, this means you might have more opportunities at growing in new ways, but no HP scaling unless you really practiced taking hits that day. That doesn't mean you'll die too easily, opponents don’t unrealistically scale either so it’ll remain balanced. ⚔️Based on DnD + your characters' homebrew gameplays if any, I like to enhance fights' immersion with more options like plays around grappling, climbing, tumbling, jumping, shifting etc, special attacks made with acrobatics, readying/reacting, attacks aimed at disarming or other specific parts/effects... We'll discuss or adopt existing versions of the most common options, but I'm also always happy to hear you innovate, treating it on the moment in the most fun and immersive way or making a new rule if necessary. ☠️We can discuss your take on character death and decide it together. I usually feel it’s more immersive and fun if the risk is real, but I keep it playable and I don't mind avoiding it altogether if you tell me you're not comfortable with that. If you like it, we can use homebrew rules for resurrecting not without consequences, when possible at all... 🛠️Crafting depends on the craft and how you do it. If you want to craft, we can discuss existing sources or homebrew rules depending on what you have in mind.

How Louis (English/Français) creates a safe table
First I pitch players during session zero about what might happen during the game, and ask them about their expectations and limits, discuss Lines and Veils. Then X, N and O cards can be used in chat. Finally I'll debrief by text or vocal meeting to see if any of that needs adjusting.
