About the adventure
Long ago, the Prime Deities and the Betrayer Gods clashed in a war that scarred all of world. In that crucible rose a mighty hero the Apotheon blessed by three Prime Deities, savior of his age, and then forgotten by history. Now, whispers of this hero’s fate rise again. What begins in the wastes of Xhorhas and the jewel of Ank’Harel grows into a saga that stretches across Exandria, threading together the forgotten past and the uncertain present. From Marquet’s deserts to the storm-lashed coasts of Wildemount, from Issylra’s ancient mysteries to the frozen reaches of Eiselcross, the story builds toward the dark heart of the Netherdeep itself. But this is not only Apotheon’s tale; it is a bridge between ages. The campaign unfolds in the uneasy years between Critical Role’s second and third campaigns, when the scars of war still fester. The conflict between the Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty simmers beneath every choice, every alliance, and every betrayal. In this crucible, the adventurers’ actions will shape the future that leads into Campaign 3. Along the way, they will cross paths with figures whose names echo through Exandria’s history: schemers like Ludinus Da’leth, allies and rivals tied to Vox Machina, the Mighty Nein, and shadows of what will become Bells Hells. The adventurers’ influence ripples outward, altering not only Alyxian’s fate, but the fate of nations and the legacy of Exandria itself. What begins as the search for a forgotten hero becomes a living epic where the choices of the players forge the bridge between stories turning history into prophecy.

Creating your character
We’ll start the campaign at level 3. Before our Session 0, we’ll have a character creation call on Discord to talk through your ideas, backstory, and how your character can fit into the world of Exandria. This is your chance to bring your concepts to the table, and I’ll work with you to weave them into the setting. During Session 0, we will: Roll for stats together Finalize your characters on D&D Beyond Establish party connections and shared history Go over lines, veils, and table expectations so everyone feels comfortable You’re free to use any official D&D books available on D&D Beyond or even any outside sources that you might find interesting and that would fit into our campaign. I’ll guide you step by step, whether you’re new to the game or a veteran player, so that by the time the story begins, your character feels grounded in the world and ready for adventure.
What to expect

No heavy downloads or complex setups—just bring your character, your imagination, and get ready for adventure.
What Avdull brings to the table
When you join my table, you’re not just playing through a single book you’re stepping into the full world of Exandria. Call of the Netherdeepgives us the spine of the story, but the adventure goes far beyond its pages. You’ll have the freedom to explore, make choices, and leave your mark on the world, with the campaign shaped around what your party decides to do. Here’s what you can expect from me as your DM: 📚 Tools & Resources Access to all the D&D Beyond books you’ll need, no extra purchases required. We’ll use Owlbear Rodeo for combat maps. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and works right in your browser. 🗺️ The World The whole of Exandria is open to you. The Netherdeep is the main thread, but you can pursue side quests, explore cities, deal with factions, and carve your own path. Custom maps for every encounter so that combat feels tactical and exciting. Extra content that bridges Critical Role’s Campaigns 2 and 3. You’ll feel the ongoing tension between the **Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty**, run into big names like **Ludinus Da’leth**, and see how the world is shifting during this point in history. 🎭 Roleplay & NPCs Expect NPCs with their own voices, accents, and personalities. Some will be friends, others will test you, but all of them will feel like part of the living world. Your choices matter. You’ll shape alliances, rivalries, and how history remembers your party. 🎶 Atmosphere Music and sound effects to set the mood, whether you’re wandering through Ank’Harel’s markets, marching through war-torn Wildemount, or descending into the Netherdeep. A good balance of serious, dramatic moments and lighthearted fun. ⚔️ Combat & Playstyle Combat that’s tactical but never bogged down — I design fights to feel challenging and cinematic. I use the Rule of Cool when it makes sense. If you imagine something awesome, I’ll do my best to help make it work. The game supports all playstyles: whether you like deep roleplay, clever combat tactics, or just adventuring, there’s space for you at the table. This campaign isn’t just about finding out what happens to Alyxian it’s about what your group does in the middle of a changing Exandria. By the time we reach the Netherdeep, you’ll see how your actions influenced nations, NPCs, and maybe even history itself. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re living inside a Critical Role season political conflicts, personal drama, big battles, and moments of pure heroics this is exactly that.

Safety
How Avdull creates a safe table
This campaign does explore some intense themes that are central to the story, and certain moments may be disturbing or uncomfortable. Because of that, it’s very important to me that we set clear boundaries together before we dive in. We’ll have a Session 0 to talk about expectations, discuss limits, and go over the kinds of themes that may appear in the game. I’ll provide a Lines & Veils (content safety) document so everyone can mark what they’re okay with, what should be faded to black, and what’s off limits. We’ll use X, N, & O cards/tools digitally (simple signals you can type or message at any point) to make sure everyone has a quick way to say “stop,” “adjust,” or “I’m really enjoying this.” After heavier sessions, I like to do a little aftercare check-in just a quick chat to make sure everyone feels okay and had fun. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where players can explore dramatic and epic stories without feeling uncomfortable or pressured.
