About the adventure

The Drylands were a place that put the old stories aside. Obviously, superstitions still exist in the mind of essentia miners and in the words of old priests who still pray for the Forgotten Gods. But not everyone have time for faith, 'cause the progress train is leaving the station and those who are late won't get a ticket. It's the promisse of a better future that brings all kinds of people to these lands. Our story of shootouts and saloons, of the good, the bad, and the ugly, of grit and heat, begins in Wyllin’s Gulch—a frontier outpost whose only deity is the gaining and spending of gold. Forty summers ago, at the dawn of the Essentia Rush, the Gulch became one of the first mining outposts near Godfell Mountain. It took root with the discovery of more and more essentia veins across the region. That brought a flood of people to this little town, which now roars with the sound of machinery, making the whole desert bow to the beast that grows deeper and stronger in the heart of the Twin Turtles—the name given to the two mesas flanking the city. With this natural defense and a thriving elite, Wyllin’s Gulch is now the gateway to the Mountain for anyone arriving on the western train line. Whatever it was that brought you here—be it the arid plains, the breathtaking sky, or, what I reckon is the real reason, the chance to get richer than you can even imagine—it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you’re here, and you’re ready to make your name known.

About me

Just a regular Lord of the Rings fan and a mythology aficionado who loves to create high fantasy adventures. I learned about TTRPGs when I was in high school and I fell in love with it since. When the pandemic hit in 2020, my friends and I found in our sessions a safe space to endure the adversities of the world and within this period I became a Dungeon Master. Now, a few years later, I want to create the same safe space for others and more than anything, help everyone to have fun.

Safety

How Janjas creates a safe table

Session 0 will be used to go through basic stuff of the game, such as character creation, and for the players to meet each other. Every one will receive a Lines and Veils document for them to fill on their own time and manner, privately. Also, in this session, I will discuss about the other safety tools I like to use and how they work in my games.
