About the adventure

Abolish an Ancient Evil Threatening Devastation in this Adventure for Dungeons and Dragons. Called by the Elder Elemental Eye to serve, four corrupt prophets have risen from the depths of anonymity to claim mighty weapons with direct links to the power of the elemental princes. Each of these prophets has assembled a cadre of cultists and creatures to serve them in the construction of four elemental temples of lethal design. It is up to adventurers to discover where the true power of each prophet lay, and dismantle it before it comes boiling up to obliterate the Realms. This game will take players from 3rd level, all the way to at least 14th. A great place to start and will be a good refresher for anyone jumping into the newest rules set for Dungeons and Dragons.

About me

Hello there! I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about 25 or so years, along with a few other TTRPGs. I have had experience as a Dungeon Master for about 20 of those. Within the last few years I've really started to enjoy the possibilities and the creativity that being a DM has to offer, and have started to run more and more games, trying to up my repertoire of voices and creative thinking. My greatest joy with being a DM is the ability to bring people from different walks of life together to tell a communal story.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done during and after the session zero, and we will discuss how to handle stats during this time as well. Ideally we will find a happy place for how to generate them and allocate them so it is fair to the whole group. The starting level for this adventure is level 3, and will be pretty open ended for the first few levels. We will strictly be using the 2024 rules for this adventure as well.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need an account for both roll20 and Discord. A free account for both is perfectly fine. A smooth internet connection and a microphone are necessary to this game as well. If you want to show your face, a webcam is highly encouraged, but not required by any means. It does help to kind of get to know who you're playing with and build up that comradery when everyone is seen. Basic understanding the rules and how the game is played is going to be expected. I also don't expect everyone to have every piece of information and rule memorized. But, all players should be knowledgable of the core rules at least.

What Dungeon Mister brings to the table

I will be helping with character creation as well as do my best to set scenes and provide maps when necessary. I have a small handful of terrible voices, so feel free to bring out yours too! Ambient music in roll20 is generally present to help set the tone or vibe of the scenario as well. My DM style is somewhere in the middle of Rules as Written and Rule of Cool. I want your characters to do the cool thing, but there are a few hard rules that cannot be bent. That being said, we are all learning the new changes to D&D as we go, so I do not expect everyone to know all of the rules.

Safety

How Dungeon Mister creates a safe table

During the session zero, we will go over any and all expectations for the game. This includes any sort of house rules as well as well as expectations for behavior and playstyle. We will also go over any sort of lines and veils as well as have a luxton style discussion for what everyone at the virtual table is comfortable with. The second half of the session zero we will discuss character creation and all that jazz.
