About the adventure

Prepare to enter Garkodia, a high-stakes, unforgiving region where the Pokemon League isn’t just a badge hunt, it’s a fight for survival. In this gritty setting, players encounter not only wild Pokémon but a brutal, power-hungry society. Garkodia is a place of rapid expansion, extreme ambition, and cutthroat alliances, where even Pokemon are treated as resources, and power is the ultimate currency. Expect a game rich in story and suspense, where choices matter and allies are hard to trust. Trainers will face powerful Gym Leaders with secret agendas, mysterious transformations that make Pokémon even more formidable, and villains who will stop at nothing to advance their goals. Danger is ever-present, and players will be challenged to adapt, survive, and outwit ruthless foes. In this adventure, players are free to pursue their own path, whether it’s bringing justice to the region, climbing the ranks of an elite society, or forging dark alliances to gain power. Combat is intense, and the role-play opportunities are rich. Every encounter could mean life or death for your character. If you’re ready for an immersive, high-stakes journey through one of the darkest Pokémon regions, step into Garkodia and test your mettle.

About me

I craft rich, immersive tabletop experiences where the stakes are high and every decision matters. My games are story-driven, character-focused, set in dark and dynamic worlds filled with tough choices, compelling villains, and challenges that will make you think. Whether you're new to tabletop RPGs or a veteran player, if you enjoy deep roleplay, meaningful consequences, and strategic problem-solving, you'll find a lot to dig into here. I love creating complex, multi-layered villains—far from mere evil. These are layered characters: calculating, ruthless, and intelligent enemies that you simply can't overpower. You have to think outside the box: trick them, bargain with them, or outwit them if you're going to stand a chance. But beware, for their motivations run deep, and they're every bit as capable of manipulating you as you are of them. I design a wide range of adversaries, from layered and calculating villains with an ulterior motive to the over-the-top foes that you love to hate. Some enemies will require careful strategy and clever thinking to defeat, while others are all about dramatic showdowns or satisfying justice. Whether it's negotiating with a morally gray mastermind or foiling a cartoonishly evil plot, expect memorable encounters that keep you guessing and fully engaged. To those who like deep roleplay and strategic play, my games can offer the possibility to forge your own path. Will you stand against corruption and fight for justice, or will you make perilous alliances and carve your name into the shadows? The choice remains yours, but every path has risks, and not all will survive unscathed. Whether you wish to fight, bargain, or lie, my games will make you think hard and push you past your comfort zone. If you're ready for an adventure full of danger, intrigue, and hard choices, then step into my world-but be prepared to face the consequences.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The game is played on Foundry Virtual Tabletop. This is done in a browser. Voice chat is done through discord, as well as a lot of reference material in the text channels. You will need Discord and a mic. I will explain necessary mechanics during session 0, and help players continue to get up to speed on the mechanical side during the first session. I will be available for continued assistance and character creation issues.

What Warlord brings to the table

I bring over ten years of experience with Pokémon Tabletop Adventures, custom maps, and homebrew mechanics. We will play on Foundry Virtual Tabletop with my subscription to it. I voice all NPCs for a fully immersive experience, adding atmospheric music for key moments. This is a high-stakes game where creative role-play, strategic combat, and personal choices shape the world around you. Combat sticks primarily to the mechanical rules, but exceptions for things can be made to fit the RP better.

Homebrew rules

Changes to Pokemon Tabletop United (PTU) -Confusion has no turn denial, and instead causes the user to deal their highest attacking stat in recoil damage to themselves whenever they attempt a damaging move. -Paralysis halves the target’s initiative, and causes them to have to make a check on a d20 of 6 every turn. Upon failure, the user may take a shift or standard action, but not both. -”Asleep” targets (drowsy) do not lose their turns, may make a d20 save check of 16 to cure drowsy on their turns, and are cured of drowsy upon being damaged by an attack. Drowsy targets have an accuracy penalty of 4, cannot land critical hits, are vulnerable, cannot apply evasion, and cannot make attacks of opportunity. -Frozen targets have their special attack and speed reduced by 2 combat stages with no turn denial or ability to thaw from being frozen. -You may not make a shift action after your standard action, only before you make your standard action. Certain trainer feats and abilities such as celebrate can circumvent this and still allow you to shift after you attack. -Whenever a pokemon faints, you may swap it out for free with another Pokemon regardless of if you are participating in a legal battle or not. Returning a Pokemon or Sending out a Pokemon is a swift action, only the full act of swapping (both returning and sending out at once) constitutes a standard action. -Trainers do not go at the top of initiative in legal battles, and remain at their speed regardless of whether the battle is legal or not. They may apply effects such as orders at the start of a battle, however. -You may not use elevation during combat (such as flying out of range of a grounded melee opponent.) -We are playing on PTR Foundry which has some changes to PTU inherently due to how developers have coded some things. I cannot exhaustively list them all here, as the PTR devs have already moved on to “PTR 2” which has nothing whatsoever to do with PTU or PTR, and I do not recommend it. -Base stat relation is an ignored rule. Just do not put more than 50% of your Pokemon’s stat points into a single stat. Changes to Pokemon Tabletop Reunited 1 (Foundry) -PTR by default has arbitrary stat bloat beyond PTU’s stats, making everything get a seemingly randomly assigned amount of stats. This is removed in the campaign.

Safety

How Warlord creates a safe table

Session 0: I will give time to each player, either together or individually as time allows, primarily focusing on assisting with character creation and getting any new players used to Pokemon Tabletop United and Foundry. During Session 0, we will also go over personal lines and veils for each player. I will be available regularly to help with character creation before and after session 0, and it is also recommended to work on character creation during session 0. Lines and Veils: During session 0, lines and veils can be outlined for what things you do not want to appear in the campaign, and to only be in the background. In the campaign's discord channel, there will be a place where you can also choose to add or remove triggering things you don't want to appear in the campaign at any such time. Luxton Technique Discussion: During session 0, we will go over how much and in what capacity we want certain triggering content to appear or not appear. Stars and Wishes: There will be a channel in the discord server for the campaign for feedback and requests. Here, you can put what you especially enjoyed about sessions and want to see more of, as well as wishes for what you want to see in the future and directions for future sessions.
