About the adventure
whether you come from the streets of the forgotten realm's Waterdeep, middle earth's Minas Tirith, or even the pirate ridden waters of the grand line. nothing has been the same since you've been pulled into this otherworldly land, combined with locations you've never heard of or even imagined could exist. Welcome to Al'Dawn. places of differing infrastructure, technology, even the people themselves. you may be familiar, unfamiliar, but all the same, this is not your home. All you can remember is being dragged from your homeworld, losing something within you, and gaining something new... a slight constant hunger. for what you're not sure, all you can do is find out alongside your newfound friends with the same problem. this is a LV 1-12 campaign, taking inspiration with some aspects from Baldur's Gate 3, but with most things being original creations. Hey this is also my first campaign on StartPlaying, it's also a campaign i've been wanting to run for years. with an Illithid like skill tree from Baldur's Gate 3 and custom made subclasses, a few for example being: VOID INFECTED SORCERER: use the void to empower yourself and curse enemies, with the cost of life. GOD SLAYER BARBARIAN: Take the essence of the deities to empower yourself to endure even the worst of punishments and retaliate with that same force. EQUINOX FIGHTER: use the balance of your dark and light side, hitting your enemies harder with the exchange of you or your allies life. or even healing your allies with the same exchange to your enemies.

About me
Heya! I'm semicolon (or semi). I'm a neruodivergent artist, streamer, and more importantly, GM. I like to play game with people and have good times with new friends. as a gm, I like incorporating peoples ideas into the worlds I create, letting them be a part of the world. I like cool stuff, so doing cool stuff with your character is cool, and I'll most likely allow it. I look forward to having cool people in my games and I hope you enjoy them!

Creating your character
- you will start at LV 1. - we will be using strictly DnD 5e 2014 rules (sorry monk players) - lv 1 starting gear. - if you're playing a human, please play variant human, you'll want that free feat. - your character's origin can be in any sort of world or franchise, original or not. the limit being at modern day (so yes, you can have a Jujutsu kaisen character in our fantasy game), just no futuristic/cyberpunk settings (sorry, no antimatter rifles). - you can have an individual character beginning, as long as everyone ends up in the same spot. we'll play out these starting stories in session 1. these are optional, but we can do them so you can get a feel for your character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
you will need a discord account (I will supply the server in which we play in) and a roll20 account. you can create a character sheet in roll20, but if you would like, you can create a character in DnDBeyond, I will supply sourcebooks for races and subclasses. you can also use the beyond20 extension for rolls to go from dndbeyond to roll20 here (https://beyond20.here-for-more.info).
What semicolon brings to the table
I will provide dndbeyond sourcebooks, I have a sew sources except sword coast character options, glory of the giants, treasury of dragons, and of the like. so I do have things like tasha's cauldron, xanathar's guide, monsters of the multiverse, eberron, and spelljammer (for my plasmoid lovers :3). game wise, I will be open to player input. if you would like to add something to the world, we can work together to add it.
Homebrew rules
the rule of cool will obviously be in this game. flanking applies, but instead you add your proficiency bonus an additional time. additional rules taken from BG3 (they did a lot of good rules). - potions are a bonus action - can cast as many spells you can in a turn (fireball as an action, misty step as a bonus action in one turn). - can fly as long as you land by the end of each of your turns.

How semicolon creates a safe table
-with lines and veils, everything in content warnings will be possible (though unlikely, like 1-10% of showing up) UNLESS SOMEONE WOULD NOT LIKE IT IN GAME. in that case that theme will be %100 completely cut from the game. -if there is something that is making you uncomfortable, don't be scared to bring out the X card, whether that be through DM'ing me, texting in the game chat, or saying it outright, in that case we will cut the scene, take a break to recover and come back to a new scene entirely. if you're too scared to pull the X card (I've been there, its nothing to be ashamed of), you can always express it even after/in between sessions. - keep in mind, themes like memory loss/alteration, lifechanging injury, addiction, torture, and anything forced will not apply to player characters, unless that player gives explicit consent and all players are okay with it.
