About the adventure

As a GM with over 40 sessions of Cosmere on my belt, experience an exciting adventure as you chase down the location of an ancient artefact critical to saving the planet from a catastrophic event that is believed to happen in the near future. Who can you trust when your guide keeps secrets and organized groups seek their own gains. Dive into Brandon Sanderson's world of Roshar as you write your own pages of an unseen story. You are a good fit for this story if you: 🌟 Like narrative first gameplay. 🌟 Enjoy hard magic and low-tech fantasy 🌟 Want an epic experience where your actions do affect the world around you Reading the Stormlight Archives is not a requirement for this adventure, but those mid-read are advised that the events in this narrative take place during or after the events of the novel Words of Radiance. There are minor spoilers, but ultimately this story takes place a little bit separate from the story in the books. Though most of my players who have never read Stormlight Archives before joining a game with me have since started reading them.

About me

Some dragons hoard gold. Others hoard gemstones. While I never will turn down such hoards, I hoard stories - a hoard that grows with each passing day. As a long-term roleplay writer, I enjoy creating new stories and curating prewritten ones to fit the tone or purpose of my stories, parties, and games. I have been type-roleplaying for many years, being part of the forum roleplay groups back in the age of Gaia Online and other similar groups. Since then, I have been writing posts that expressed the inner workings, the active actions, and the pointed conversations of hundreds of complex characters. This is only amplified when compiling them together to form a story that is reactive and interactable from a group seeking the next dawn. I have a corgi familiar named Fenrir who often enjoys giving me the Help action and is a mini-celebrity amongst my players, often having a related npc or party pet that represents Fenrir and his antics. I value narrative context and will do my best to fit the mechanics to the narrative you want. This has led me to curating and crafting custom content - often referred to as homebrew - for several games, players, and even other game masters. I do my best to not include AI generated imagery in my live games, choosing to not use such images for advertisement and actively replacing any edge/unknown cases with commissioned pieces, and often support growing artists in my communities. I also do not use AI in any of my play-by-post messages. This provides a raw experience to my creative inspirations.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created using a narrative process where your actions will shape your character's traits. During this, we will create characters together that host skills or features to match our decisions that we see the characters taking and help work together as a team. Content will be provided to players.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should plan accordingly for the following: - Have an account to access Demiplane, Discord, and Google Drive (free) - Have an idea of what kind of character archetype they want to play narratively - Inform me of any potential limitations you might have with accessing the game content or sessions so I can try my best to accommodate

What Onyx (Megan) brings to the table

I will be providing: - digital content - mood setting ambiance - realistic npcs - fleshed out novel characters that may not have had as much description - expanded ecology and enemy rosters - VTT for players who would like maps for visual assistance

Homebrew rules

I will be adding in new monsters and ecology aspects that are not currently present in the books. While player options are going to be RAW for learning purposes, there will be moments where I will use RAI or even alter the rules to make the game more fun. I will inform the party of this change and it will be listed on my discord server to review at a later time.

Safety

How Onyx (Megan) creates a safe table

I host a safety tools workshop alias for Avrae (my D&D 5e dice roller) that I use in all of my games. It can be accessed on any channel and the command "!safety stop" may be used at any time to stop the current scene and move on. Players will be sent a form going through some basic questions so I can understand any lines, veils, and triggers you might be aware of before the game begins in private while also having a session 0 to discuss some features that may be brought up - especially during this adventure. Most content can be avoided or downplayed so its not as big of an issue, but there are some content warnings that cannot be avoided due to the aspect of the story being told. That content is listed out under Content Warnings. There is also some culture-based content that can be considered Racism or Sexism. These are underlining issues in the story but can be backed down on in the narrative. Please message me with questions!
