About the adventure

Along the banks of the River Drearie lived the coven Four of Journey, who with familiars' kept aglow the poorly town that breezed below. These witches and their familiars are known among the folk as The Witches of Windwoe. Welcome to The Witches of Windwoe -- A multishot game using a modified version of The Witch is Dead System! The witches Northward, Southward, Eastward, and West have been banished to the corners of their dominions by the ungrateful townsfolk of Windwoe. Until their masters can return, the Four Winds will not blow in Windwoe, and the seasons will move with grave unpredictability. You, their familiars, must learn how to remove the banishment restoring the seasons and returning The Witches of Windwoe to their rightful place.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character conceptualization will be done as a group during the session 0. Any secret information that you want to share about your character can be messaged to me, either via startplaying or discord.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

If you don't already have a Discord account, please create one, as this will be the primary form of communication for the group. All players must have sent me their lines and veils before the session 0.

What GingerTheMage brings to the table

NPCs and Villains are well thought out, even when improvised, with unique voices and motivations that aid immersion. Custom character cards for each familiar will be made for download.

Homebrew rules

I use additional butterfly and fish familiars that will be provided during session 0. I also give the option of a betrayal mechanic, where 1 character is working with the antagonists against the goals of the coven. I will send out a poll for this amongst players for anonymous response. If everyone agrees, I will roll and notify the player in secret. If any one player does not want to run betrayal, I will not do so. Please do not tell anyone if you have chosen not to run with betrayal because it erases the mystery for that player.

How GingerTheMage creates a safe table

Lines & Veils will be collected from players via direct message onto a google doc for anonymity of players. Lines & Veils will be reiterated to players during the session 0 to ensure maximum clarity. Red, yellow, green and/or x/n/o cards held up in video. Stars & wishes will be used as a debrief from sessions and an open space for positive feedback for me the GM.
