About the adventure
Engrin Via Lactea--an ancient and powerful sea dragon that, people once believed, carries civilization on its back as it circles and protects its fiery nest, swimming through space. The origin of this myth is the origin of many such stories–the synthesis of the mind, spirit and body, working together (with the information available) to explain the inexplicable and solve life’s great mysteries. These natural inclinations, throughout the world of Engrin, have spurred an evolving and advancing technological and philosophical enlightenment–lasting 1000 years, to date–referred to by journalists, scribes and historians as the Grand Awakening. This Illumination of mind and spirit has manifested itself in many ways. While the provinces of Degrosh, New Gellunde, and Logos (home to the Logos Institute of Technological Advancement and Higher Learning) have focused this heightening of intelligence to the practical applications of industrialization and the practical advancement of everyday life, the province of Aatma, to the north of Avgels Highkeep, has focused their efforts on athletic and bodily intelligence becoming foremost warriors and expert scientists of sport. From the agricultural and port communities of Keath and Kammlon, to the wild-leaning lands of Zobrar and The Blacklands, all peoples have specialized (and even despecialized or disengaged) over the last ten centuries. With the rise of technology comes the competition for preeminent supremity, every advancement a play for power. Clovistaad, a tactically-brilliant nation, competes for expanded borders. Degrosh and Logos for technological superiority, Keath and Kammlon for expansion into the sea and New Gellunde and Malorain compete for the sky. What could possibly go wrong…..

About me
HELLOOO ADVENTURERS! Fabled Heroes and Fun-Seeking Souls! Daring Mages and Soldiers of Fortune! I’m Steven Bryte, your candidate for Dungeon Master! I've been doin it for nearly 20 years! What started with a small group of theater friends diving into 3.5e modules quickly spiraled into a passion for homebrewing that’s only grown stronger over time. Over the years, I’ve gained a unique perspective on storytelling, experimenting with dramatic devices, systems, and stakes across D&D, Blades in the Dark, MOTW, Fate, and more. Whether you’re a fresh adventurer or an experienced player, I thrive on breaking down barriers so we can craft a story together. My games are human (in a manner of speaking), high-risk, and emotionally charged — and safety is my priority. Comfort at the table is non-negotiable, ensuring that everyone can engage and create a truly fulfilling experience. If you’re looking for a rich homebrew world, complex, interwoven stories, and a seat where everyone’s voice matters, then pull up a chair, get into character, and let’s roll the dice.

Creating your character
Players will create characters at 3rd Level and some amount of backstory before session one. Stat Rolling and connections (a la MOTW) at the top of Session one. All players have the choice of a Magic Item or Weapon at start. (I recommend The Ultimate Rpg Character Backstory Guide by James D'amato and The Gamemasters Book of Non-Player Characters by Jeff Ashworth for inspiration!)

What Steven Bryte brings to the table
Welcome to the table—a place where storytelling is king, chaos is expected, and emotional arcs hit just as hard as natural 20s. I run games that feel like a cross between Dimension 20’s narrative intensity, NADDPOD’s character-driven absurdity, and Dungeon & Daddies’ chaotic heart. It’s a gauntlet of big feelings, weirder plot twists, and player-driven discovery, wrapped in collaborative storytelling and trust. At my table, we balance laughter and lore, improv and intention. We celebrate character choices (even the bad ones), explore personal backstories with flashbacks and thematic depth, and build momentum through "rule of cool" moments as often as we reference the PHB. The vibes? Think: -Found family over min-maxing -Drama with consent -Stylized worldbuilding, gameplay, and Feels-forward storytelling -A little spooky, a little queer, a little silly, a lot sincere You’ll vibe here if: -You enjoy roleplay and want your character to grow or unravel over time. -You love collaborative storytelling and respect everyone’s spotlight. -You’re open to emotional depth and laugh at silly jokes. -You trust the DM to hold your tears and your triumphs with care. You’re not here to “win”—you’re here to feel and build something memorable. It’s not about playing perfectly. It’s about playing honestly, imaginatively, and together.
Homebrew rules
Will discuss in Session Zero! No sucker-punches, but i like these to be character driven and at the (reasonable) preference and cater of the PCs.
