About me
Hi there! Long time GM of my home group, as well as various online games. My interest with table top roleplaying really started when I was ten, and made a dice rolling mechanic to accompany a story that I had my friend play through. It wasn't too long after that when my sister gifted me her copy of the second edition Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook. From there, I got together with some friends, and started playing. Going forward, we eventually moved to fifth edition Dungeons and Dragons, as well as various other systems over the years. I generally consider myself a bit of a mega nerd. A lot of my childhood was spent reading things like “Star Wars: the Essential Guide to Characters” and other such books, and when I began to delve into the internet, reading various fan run wikis. Lately, Doctor Who and Gundam have been by major nerd spheres of interest.

Char is a fantastic GM, he works well with his players and helps them understand the universe and system as well. Is also very open to what players do and takes inspiration from them to adjust and change things in unique and fun ways. The game always felt fun, like what we were aiming for was in reach (even if it wasn't for the most part). Only down side, there is a poor waitress who is waiting for him to call her but he threw away her number. :p
Great introductory one-shot for a system that I had zero knowledge of! Is willing to help out players whenever confusion comes up, and allowed us a day in character creation alone before jumping into the game proper. Good use of mech anime references during explanation. Personally speaking, this was a HUG breath of fresh air and scratched the itch I had for a good Sci-Fi TTRPG sesh. TLDR: Great host, good system, amazing time all-round!
Char was a fantastic GM! He was a amazing and I highly recommend his Steel Hearts one shot. I was long time DND purist and we booked him on a whim, and let me tell you, this was a fantastic and amazing time. He is truly dedicated to his players and was super accommodating. He was beyond helpful, attentive and most of all, he was very willing to help us learn and really slow things down so we can understand. Word of a advice, if you have only experience playing DND this is a lot different but Char related things to familiar terms and made it super easy to hooked. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.
I have not had Char as a GM regularly in online play, so I cannot speak to his abilities using various websites and tools, however, as a regular player of Char's in IRL games I would recommend anyone to check out one of his games. His games tend to focus on narrative/story beats/character driven narratives. If you are looking for crunchy, in-depth combat encounters this is not the GM for you, but if you like to think about the themes of your RPGs and mainly play RPGs for the story, world building and interesting characters I would highly recommend you consider playing in a Char game. Also provides a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment for games for newcomers and veterans alike.
Character creation
Creating your character
We will have a free session 0 to walk through character creation as well as go over safety tools and using roll 20. Characters will be starting at level 1, and we will be using the point buy method for ability scores. All options available for class, species, and background in the 2024 player's handbook are available. Material from the 2014 version, namely species, sub-classes and backgrounds can be available pending discussion of it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will be expected to have the following: -A discord account -Decent Internet -A decent microphone -To be decently audible and not have a ton of background noise -A roll20 account will also be required, as character sheets as well as all map based interactions will be handled there.
What Char brings to the table
I have been a GM for over a decade now, having originally started with second edition Dungeons and Dragons, and eventually moving to fifth edition not too long after it came out. I tend toward running player focused campaigns, looking to allow my players to shape the world as much as they want, to the best of their ability.
