Indulge your inner reprobate in this 1st to 10th level Pathfinder 2nd Edition adventure, and join a band of other lovable scoundrels to cause mayhem across the magitech boom-town of Alkenstar! Marginalized and oppressed by a corrupt industrial society, our anti-heroes join in a covert crusade against corrupt officers of the law, financiers, and politicians. Featuring thrilling bank heists, fast-paced chases through an explosive industrial metropolis, and wacky constructs designed to make life easier - and shorter, the adventure path combines the best of spaghetti Western, Victorian steampunk, and classic high fantasy! ⚙️ 1st to 10th level adventure path! ⚙️ With one of the three most reviewed DMs on StartPlaying. ⚙️ Use unique character options from the "Guns&Gears" supplement to create a character at home in this steampunk metropolis. ⚙️ Indulge your inner scoundrel - fight the power - and explore life on the dark side. ⚙️ Immersive adventure module with new digital art and sound to bring the setting to life. This a medium-term Pathfinder 2nd edition campaign going "only" to level 10. We will be playing weekly on Foundry VTT, with Discord for communication. About me

Greetings, adventurers. My name is George, and I have been immersing myself in TTRPGs since around 2001. My journey into the realm of Game Mastering took a serious turn with the release of Pathfinder. My background in theatre, history, and education has been instrumental in shaping my GM style, which emphasizes dramatic conflict, challenging decisions, and character development. I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with a diverse and international player population, both online and in person. This experience has enriched my understanding of the game and its global appeal. The games I run are primarily drawn from official Paizo publications for Pathfinder, supplemented by key resources from publishers like Kobold Press and Sly Flourish. In each campaign, I make it a point to engage with the player characters’ backgrounds. This begins with a session zero where we collaboratively create characters that align with the theme of the campaign. Each campaign I run is a unique world unto itself. I strive to create a distinctive and consistent atmosphere for each one, whether it’s the dark and grim tone of a horror campaign or the epic battles of a high fantasy adventure. Some campaigns may include unique mechanics tailored to their theme. My games, even when played remotely online, aim to emulate the feel of a traditional tabletop experience as much as possible. I prefer to keep technology from overwhelming the gameplay, allowing us to focus on the human elements of the game - the people around our virtual table. I am always available to answer questions through this site. If you have any doubts before signing up for a session, please contact me. I am always eager to hear from established parties who are looking for a new GM. Whether you have already been gaming together, or you are a group of friends, coworkers, or a family group, I would love to embark on an adventure with you. I am also open to requests from existing/ongoing groups for a specific campaign for your party. Whether you have a published module in mind or just an idea that you’d like to develop, I’m here to help you play the game you want to play! Remember, the essence of tabletop gaming is to have fun and create memorable stories together. Let’s roll the dice!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will build characters together during session zero, though players are welcome to discuss their ideas before the first session through Discord. I strongly encourage players to choose characters options from the "Guns and Gears" supplement, as they are the most thematically appropriate for this setting. We will be using the free archetype optional rule, to allow for more flexibility in this direction. In addition, we will use the "automatic progression bonus" rule, which means when you grab a loaded weapon from the corpse of your enemy you don't have to worry about whether it has the right "runes". Players who join late will start at the current level of the party. We will not be using the "wealth by level" table since the ABP option should make sure you have the appropriate bonuses.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A good quality microphone (preferably a headset) is required to use Discord. While it is not a requirement, I also strongly encourage players to use video during games. Games using video conferencing are usually more enjoyable for all parties, as video prevents misunderstandings and miscommunication. In addition you will need (free) accounts for Discord and Forge - the site hosting our Foundry VTT session.

What George brings to the table

All handouts, maps, art, and character-building resources will be provided electronicaly either through Foundry or Discord.

Homebrew rules

We will be using the Free Archetype Optional Rule and the Gradual Ability Boost Optional Rule.

Safety

How George creates a safe table

This is a fast-paced, high-action campaign, with the general feel of an action-filled Western - shoot-outs, chases, and explosions! In additon, the players are expected to take on the questionable role of anti-heroes, both oppressed and corrupted by a decadent industrial regime. "Grey morality" is key, and characters from the chaotic end of the alignment spectrum are more likely to thrive in this environment. Party cohesion must always come first, however. Any language or behaviour that makes other players feel unsafe or unwelcome at the table will not be tolerated.
